Bright, hot, humid and windy, all this past weekend but it was still good
riding. It's nice to read other ride reports, to see that we weren't the
only ones out on 2 wheels and that everyone had a good time and made it home
    safely.

We rode to Coleman on Saturday, then yesterday, Joe and I rode via Graham,
to Louie's place. We spent the afternoon visiting and was served some
exceptionally good brisket, pork roast and sausage links (Mmm... thanks,
Louie). We left the creek and completed the loop through the Possum Kingdom
Lake area, then headed west on 180, pulling into our driveway as the sun
set. I guess most riders around here had other things to do, as we only saw
2 bikes, other than our own. We did see some roadkill but luckily, no live
critters on the road, though I did have to dodge a buzzard, who was
reluctant to leave his roadside meal.
Between the heat, gusty winds and a few roads in various stages of repair,
our weekend was 312 miles of "shake & bake" but there wasn't much traffic at
all and we did had fun.

    Ride safe, all.

Colemans a nice place. I have a hunting lease there and its my 6th year
to lease. In all those years I have yet to ride my bike there. I always
talk about taking it with me when I go but never seem too. Always
plenty of stuff to keep me busy there on the lease. Maybe this summer I
will get the bike down there and ride some of the backroads. I bet
theres some nice country to see.

There ya go, atleast you two rode somewhere. My Honey and I didnt get
to this weekend, but did last weekend.
This April weather is about like May or early June already, wow!
Glad you and Joe rode in that part of the country, famous for the Deer
Critters,& had fun without a hitch.

I got into cowtown right at damn near dark. The weather was perfect for the
ride in. I did have an ambulance merge onto I20 with me. I moved over into
the far left lane to let him on and yield to him. I had to slow down to let
the ambulance by. They don't drive those ambulance like they used. The flow
of traffic is faster than the damn ambulances. As I get older, I'd like to
see the ambulances pick their speed up, back like it used to be, around
    90mph.

Thanks, Bjay. Actually, it feels more like July here.
A realtor called me today, so I just got back from a ride out to take pics
for him, of a ranch near Caddo. On the way there and back, it felt like I
was riding in a _hot air popcorn popper_.

I must be the only person in the friggin world who didn't ride this
weekend. Damn snow. Actually it only snowed on Saturday. By late
afternoon Sunday it wasn't too bad.

Sounds like you folks enjoyed a fine day. Glad to hear it.

Man, I hate missing good food. Sorry to have missed it.

Did Louie make the BBQ at your place last summer? That was mighty
    tasty.

No, Ray's Grocery here in Breckenridge, did the honors on that day.

I'm still waiting for Joe to get around to building us a smoker. With all
the other stuff he has to build, that little project is on the back burner.

Sorry for getting back to you late, Jerry but we've been at the DAV Car/Bike
Show/Rally in Mineral Wells. Despite the storms, there was a good turnout
of a few of us diehards. Or as one guy put it, "hard core". ;)
One thing I learned by _watching_, was that not everyone can ride though mud
without dumping their bikes, or getting stuck but they were cheerful anyway.
One guy we met, dumped his bike 4 times. The other guys named his bike
"Piggy", because every time it came to a mud hole, it dropped and wallowed.
    <g>

Now to answer your question; No, I haven't found "the" bike yet but I'm
still riding the V-Star. It will do me quite well, for now.
Thanks for asking though. I'll keep looking till I find that special one
that I just can't live without. I sat on a friend's Shadow today and it
sure was nice. It fit too. :)

    All the best,
