I have some 60 quid HG boots with a Sheltex membrane and they've never
let a drop in. I wear Sealskinz thermal socks inside them and as a
    combination they're perfect.

The HG Cruise GTX suit I bought a couple of months ago seems to have
done a fantastic job of keeping the rain out. Wish I could say the same
about my old HG Pathan gloves.

So I need some waterproof winter gloves. With the emphasis on
waterproof. Money no object, so anyone got any recommendations?

They you've been lucky. The 130 quid HG boots I bought last year started
leaking within six months. And yes, they were supposed to be waterproof.

The waterproof ones I've used for about the last three years are a
pair of not very expensive Swift ones that Lozzo sorted out for me and
I probably killed them when we had a day at Scunthorpe speedway track
    last year.

They didn't leak before that and I think the only reason my feet ended
up cold and wet in Germany was that the boots I was wandering around
in snow for a few days and they were left in the front of my tent at
night with the temperature well below zero.
    Not a clue.

For warmth you can't beat heated gloves and for keeping your hands dry
bar muffs are the best approach but they'd just be wrong on a sports
    bike.

The heated gloves I've got are very warm and they appear to be
waterproof but the connections for the cables are crap and considering
three of us have that make and all three of us have had the same
    problem I wouldn't recommend them.

    @news.motzarella.org:

I've got some Alpinstars fabric jobs that are excellent. I can use them in
all but the coldest weathers with heated grips. I bought them ages ago so
    they have lasted well.
Their Mirage glove seems to be the closest in the current range

In the Alps last year I was quite impressed with the Lidl jobs I bought.
Very warm and waterproof. They've only been used for a few miles - when
riding at altitude in the rain at close to freezing - so no idea of
longevity. The only criticism is that the lining in the little finger will
pull out when you take them off. You need to poke it back in with a biro. A
minor irritation, really, considering the price.

Looking at the web site, their Bullson Maddox boots look like an exact
match for what I have. I definitely paid no more than 60 quid for them a
couple of years ago but now they're up for £105. They seem to have had
quite a price hike across the board.

I haad a look at the Jet Roads and they seemed quite good. So I went for
a pair of 365 GTX instead. They don't seem nearly as warm, don't have
the same double-cuff arrangement and they were far more expensive but
even sitting on my desk they seem to add 10mph to my top speed.

Fuggit, I just went out for a blast in a fleece, a body warmer and
    jeans.

I laugh in the face of showery weather ..

A great big screen in front helps ..
