That's one of my favourite Castles that is.

 

A few years back SWMBO & I walked out to it, on my insistence, on a
cold & blustery grey day. To say she was underwhelmed when we got
there is an understatment.

 

You have to imagine doing the same walk on a sunny Saturday afternoon after
lunch in the pub and before spending the evening at the pub. Then it's
perfect. There is also a small ferry which goes directly to the pub and
saves you walking back from the castle.

 

A rather more ambitious itinerary in the US - but you would need a lot
