You can turn up early and talk to the clerk. He will confirm that you are
pleading guilty and you should be able to sort it out then.

    Good luck.

I must admit to stifling a snigger when I paid the fine on the spot with my
Whatabout if you have a decent joint income (decent sized disposable
    income) -
is it worth not including the means form, will you get stung
significantly more if you can afford more

Oh, I can't remember, because it didn't apply to me at the time.

Ive snipped the whole message - sorry - as Im posting via google and
    our works
Websweeper blocks some posts on a semi-random basis.

Unfortunatly it was a 24 hour bus lane. Interesting point about the
economics, though. Ive used it for 6 or so months, so thats... 54
hours of work gained... so works out OK. (20 days a month * 6- 12
days holiday * 30 minutes per day saved). Having said that Ive
    stopped for now.

Thanks for the advice - I'll do that. I'll post back later in the
Got the fine thru the post last week - 40 + 35 costs (no points).
Pretty much what I expected but still stings. Still, after saving
about 1/2hr a day (or therabouts) for 26 weeks (or so) it works out
quite cheap (almost like a low conjestion charge)

65 hours saved for a 75 quid fine? Fucking bargain.

****! I use the bus lanes in Nottingham _every_time_ I go into town.
Cheers for the heads up ;)

You could argue that the sign says busses and *bicycles*, and the tax
class of your vehicle is ...? B'ham lets motorcycles use the bus
    lanes[1], good idea IMO.

[1] Specifically on the A38 just north of Spaghetti Junction - dunno
if this is the whole of Brum or not.

Thats what I thought... Just trying to commiserate myself though - its
not as if I was getting paid overtime for those extra hours.

I was spotted using a bus lane in nottingham in may
Theyre occasionally on the A52 going past the nursuryman pub (2 or 3
miles from M1 J25 - normally in use by bikers (but only occasionally
by busses, a laudible waste of 33% of the road on that stretch, neatly
condensing traffic into neat rows of parked cars...). Also watch out
for mobile cameras on the section of the last run of the A52 at the
QMC (theyre often in the layby on the left, if you are heading up the
A52 from Grantham direction) just before the big roundabout for the
uni on the left (with the QMC just off to the right.....). They're
also to be seen fairly regularly (seen them repeately on sundays) on
the road going up the hill past the QMC and up towards canning circus.

Inexplicably a friend saw mobile cameras between the fixed "average
speed" cameras just past the QMC on the ring road, obviously they are
not raking enough money from those...

Cheers, I work at the University and head in from the east, so I'm
familiar with the bast^h^h^h^h safety units around the QMC and most of
my "bus lane running" happens more "in town" i.e. inside the ringroad
    than where you were done.
IIRC in M/C News there was an article that said that if SPECS pick up
a lot of "unidentified" readings over the speed limit, then the
bast^h^h^h^h safety units will appear around the times of habitual
offenders. If they make a positive ID and match up past offences the
offender can expect a very large, high velocity, book ...
