Sugar in the fuel tank

At first I thought it was an ex girlfriend to blame.
The old FJ1200 started running like shit so I ripped out
the fuel filter and found it full of sugar.
I cleaned out the filter and put it back and the bike ran good
for about a week and blocked up with sugar again.
This time I drained the tank, used a thin vacuum hose to clean
any residue out and rinsed it a couple of times before fitting a
new filter and filling it with fresh fuel.
To cut a long story short, It has been almost three years since
the problem started I have changed address the bike has been
locked in the garage when not in use and I am still cleaning
sugar out of the filter, And I don't mean a little bit the last
time was nearly half a cup.
I always use premium unleaded fuel and I have just read
that they use ethanol as an octane booster, I am wondering if
the ethanol could be crystallizing in the tank, causing my
    sugar problem......

    Anyone else having similar problems.

Pity premium unleaded doesn't have ethanol added.

It sure isn't an octane booster. Maybe your exgirlfriend has diabetes and
    she's pissing in the tank?

Everybody is being silly as usual.

Maybe it could be some catalyst process where the sugar??
    crystals are growing.

Are you sure it's sugar and maybe not salt deposits ?

Is it a tank with lining inside it ?. What's it's condition ?.
Could it be your fuel lines reacting/catalysing the crystals ?

I don't know. May be you have had hypnotic suggestion,
and you are laddening your own tank with sugar on a
    que.

Maybe it's the tooth fairy ?

    Now i'm being silly.

They're entertaining, but some of their testing methods are implausible.

Maybe so, but you can't fault the way that they blow something up
    at least once per episode!

(It all became clear once I realised that Mythbusters is actually
an Australian TV show - blowing things up is in our blood!)

Your guess is as good as mine.
This is a serious post and has really got me stuffed.

Yes it is definitely sugar I tasted it I could put it in a cup of tea.
No it is not lined and in very good condition.
Will start to believe this if I cant find another explaination.
