  1. Tape it up with Duct tape, that should get it through rego, fix the seat
    later.

The silicone spray did the trick for getting the carbies back on, and
the bike is now running sweeter than it has in a while.

The only bummer is that when I took it down for the pink slip
inspection, they knocked it back because of a tear in the seat! So now
I'm up for another $110 to get the seat re-covered before I can get
the bike registered and take it for a decent ride (I'd let the rego
lapse last month because I didn't have any cash for the intake
manifolds, and couldn't see the point in paying rego on a bike I
couldn't ride at the time anyway).

So now I have to wait until at least the weekend (should get the seat
back on Friday afternoon) before I can go for a ride. Bugger.

You'd think so, but not good enough apparently. Mind you, we are
talking about something about 8" long by 2" wide. :) I've been
meaning to get the seat re-covered ever since it was about 1" x 0.5"
(about 3 years ago now, lol), so I'm not really too fussed about the
cost of the job, just the timing!

  4. Better to get it repaired sooner rather than later. The sun degrades the
foam, the longer its exposed, the worse it gets and the more the repair
costs. That's the way I work anyway. And charge Ducati rider more
    obviously.
