stupid radio ad,

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Doesnotcompute, Aug 28, 2003.

  1. Just caught a radio ad for some car sales company.

"All our cars are 95% one owner".

    WTF?

Are they trying to insinuate that every single car they sell has been
repaired with parts from a scrapyard therefore approx 5% of the car has
    had more than one owner?

Or perhaps that their merchandise was previously owned by someone with
5% of their body missing? perhaps a hand, or foot or brain or something.

I'm no literary genius but that's dire, it's certainly nothing close to
"95% of our cars have only had one previous owner" is it?

Not the most catchy slogan is it?

Although I know **** all about advertising, I have noticed they often break
the rules maybe to catch the readers attention such as deliberately
misspelling words or simply shortening sentences to give the essential
information out in a time-limited radio commercial.

100% of our cars are 95%?

This can only mean they have no cars to sell.
