There was a fair bit on work put into getting them like that though,
wasn't there? In road use they do suffer badly from road salt and
    general crap.

Not really, the seals got changed and that was about it. Course they
had braided hoses and an AP master cylinder but I think as far as
calipers go there's nothing wrong with them.

The finish is another matter of course.

Hmm. Well, the brakes were pretty much the worst bit of the bike,
    actually ...

That's why you each have found "alternative" ways of bringing the bike
    to a halt, isn't it.

Are they the same as those fitted to the k3 thou? I've never had any
problems with them, despite occasionally giving them a deliberate hard
time on mountain twisties, just to see if I could induce something.
Maybe you're just not a hamfisted oik.

Whilst that may be true I don't think you could reasonably state they
were 'shit'. "Not as good as..." possibly but "shit"? No.

I don't recall the ZX9R C ever being criticised when it was launched for
    having crap brakes.

Still, times move on I guess.

Perhaps those who, rather emotively, criticise modern superbike brakes as
shit should ride a few of the 'superbikes' I've had and ridden [1]. Then
say whether the brakes are shit.
