Friend was pulled over for speeding between the towns of Wallendbeen &
Harden NSW, (look em up they're specs but they are there ) he was in his car
with cruise set at 117 kph, and listening to the radio , he knew he was
speeding and was taking his chances with being pulled for speeding, well he
was caught,

he was pulled from vehcile , hand cuffed and had a gun pulled, spread em on
the bonnet and had to stay that way until the officer involved with the
special task force against speeding called a local officer to assist. and
verify the local mans id and reason for his trip. Friend is not a smart
arse, nor viloent , nor big, nor seedy looking, dresses clean & tidy well
know and a happy bright personality.

Where do these two bit wankers in the HP get off with the road safety line,
not one of them joined the HP to save lives, they are nothing but legalised
hoons with guns, uter fuckwits.. At least a camera can be controlled and
calibrated.

However .. that seems awfully excessive for doing 117hm/h in a 100 zone I
expect. As you say, he admits he was wrong, no worries there, but to have a
gun pulled on you is something else! I'd be taking a pretty huge stance on
this and filing a formal complaint withthe force in regards to this action.

Seems weird to me .. perhaps they thought the car was stolen, other factors?
There has to be a reason, surely HP don't just do this shit for fun
(although it wouldn't surprise me)

Tell your mate to put in a formal complaint. There are all sorts of
regulations about what the police can and can't do in those situations. This
cop in particular should be kicked off the force.

IIRC whenever an armed officer is required to take his gun from the holster
in the line of duty he is required to make a report as to why. Make a
request to the SNR SGT to see the report as the what were the cirmumstances
that they felt that warranted it. If you don't get a reply file a
complaint.

 

And made to hand his Brown Shirt back.

NSW Highway Patrol are not Police they are a breed apart.

Make the complaint anyway. Enough unsubstantiated complaints will still get
a cop restricted to desk-driving. And there will be some things to verify
his story anyway, like the radio reports from the background check.
