  2. Do you frequently barge into a group of people who are
having a discussion, walk up to complete strangers and
ask, "What makes you think that anybody gives a **** what
you think?" I never saw your name before that outburst,
and I don't know know anything about you, except that
you're rude, obnoxious, and you bitch and whine like a
spoiled child when someone whom you attacked for no reason
defends himself. You have a lot of growing up to do, Mikey.
Oh great, another obsessed 'net nerd. wormy wallerstain's
obsession with me forced him to find out where I work, what
I do for a living, where I live, and post an obituary of one
of my relatives. None of which bothered me in the least, but
it certainly made a fool of wormy. I really couldn't care less
about what you do, or your posting history, and I wouldn't waste
my time looking into it. Why are you so intensely obsessed with
    me? Why the fascination, Mike?
That was an incredibly poor analogy. In a theater, people are not
having discussions, they are silently watching a presentation.
A better analogy would be a large group of people standing around
outside a theater, enjoying discussions on a variety of different
subjects. Suddenly, one hysterical nut case decides that it's his
duty to censor the subject matter of these free and varied discussions
by shouting obscenities at complete strangers. That was you, Mikey.
WTF is wrong inside your head?
Clearly unwelcome only by a very small, very uptight, very
hysterical few, who hate freedom of expression, love violence,
can't think for themselves, believe everything their government
tells them, and feel the need to censor and control the subject
matter that's being discussed. If you're looking for allies, you
would do well to find a *much* better class of people.
Apparently you have trouble with that concept, because you
certainly have done a lot of bitching and whining ever since
you launched your off the wall, juvenile, and profane 'net cop
    attack.

Wealth, intelligence and looks are all relative my dear. Only fools

Percentages are irrelevant. It only takes a few squids to bring the
    law and legislation crackdown.

But you know something? There's lots of lawyers who put themselves
through law school slinging hash and now spend their days chasing
after ambulances, trying to convince society's losers that they

I could insert this comment anywhere; this is as good a place as any:

Over the time I've observed exchanges between people (mine included) in
which one party criticizes the behavior of another, said behavior rarely
changes as a result. You can say the same about my comment here, most
likely, but if you don't like wasting your valuable time, it may be food

Henry; how typical. Michael did NOT state that he would ride without a helmet.
As usual, when you can't win an argument on merit, you invent one of your cutely
    (mis)worded little straw man arguments.

Michael wrote only that "You can count me as one", in response to the question
"I wonder how many people would enjoy their "freedom" to ride without a helmet,
if it meant being turned away at the hospital?".

You've clearly demonstrated that you can't comprehend the difference between
enjoying the freedom to ride without a helmet and riding without a helmet.

Every day it's over 75 degrees fahrenheit, I enjoy the freedom to ride my
motorcycle wearing shorts, tennis shoes, a t-shirt, and a DOT half-helmet with
sunglasses. I have never ridden my motorcycle in shorts, tennis shoes, a
    t-shirt, and a DOT half-helmet with sunglasses.

Learn to read, Henry. That'll be your first step to interacting with others
here on an equal footing. Until then, you're doomed to suffer the derision so
    many heap on you.

  10. No, I probably wouldn't, but this is a poor analogy. Unlike a group
of strangers in any other place, rec.motorcycles is a public forum.
Here is a better analogy. Say I'm hanging out with a bunch of guys,
some of whom I know fairly well and others not so well, but most of
whom happen to ride motorcycles. Our conversation centers mostly on
matters of motorcycling but with an occasional aside, mostly intended
to generate smiles. There's one guy, though, that spends most of his
time trying to tell us how bad our president has made things. For a
long while we mostly ignore him but find him more and more annoying
as the time passes. Suddenly this fellow decides he's going to point
out the reality about something we have been talking. In this case,
Henry, asking him what makes him think anybody gives a **** what he
thinks is probably exactly what I would do!

What's this, Henry? Did you forget to stick your tongue out as well
as to type a 'y', or could it be that you are beginning to realize
that your childish name mangling doesn't help make you seem overly
    bright?

While I don't find it an obsession, I will answer the question. I
don't mind returning some grief to those who have made it their business
to abuse friends and acquiantances, such as you have abused the
participants of rec.motorcycles. Despite Andy Burnett's observation
in this thread, I find that you have, in the last few days, taken a
respite from the political BS and, except for your attempts to justify
your behaviour, have limited yourself to on-topic matters. Perhaps
my pointing efforts have had some positive effect.

I you don't care for the company you're keeping you're free to stop
    participating at any time!

Particularly when cross posting all this OT crap into sportbike land. I
realize some groups are more OT than others, and of course AMS has its own
OT excursions, but whichever non AMS regulars are keeping this junk going by
continuing the crossposting, holy crap, go ride a bike already and lets
whine about how good/bad THAT was.

  13. Can you imagine the boom in our economy if we invested here at
home, the hundreds of billions of tax payer dollars that are
now being wasted destroying Iraq, murdering Iraqi civilians,
and handing out lucrative, multi billion dollar, no bid contracts
to the bu$h regime's corrupt corporate cronies? New schools, driver
education, new highways, repaved roads, new bridges, rebuilt
infrastructure, etc. etc. Think of all the stable, good paying
    jobs that would create.

  14. Timmy, you've repeatedly shown that you can have great difficulty
reading, thinking, and comprehending what you read. Why would a
hospital turn away someone who had been wearing a helmet, but was
opposed to mandatory helmet laws? Do you "think" the hospital staff
would somehow be able to read his mind, and turn him away because
of his thoughts? Do you "think" they would do a search of the internet,
find his comments expressing opposition to helmet laws, and use them
as justification to turn him away? That's pretty absurd, even for you!
Clearly, Mikey's reply was in response to the possibility of turning
away people whose injuries were a result of riding lidless. "Enjoying
the freedom to ride without a helmet" means exactly what it says - riding
without a helmet and enjoying it.
Your desperate attempts to start silly arguments sure can be humorous,
Timmy! I'm so glad you decided to come out of hiding! ;-)

  16. That's a poor analogy too, Mikey, and here's why. Your rude outburst
was in direct response to my comments regarding helmet usage. I said
noting about the cowardly, draft dodging, AWOL liar, bu$h, in that post.
Now you're making even less sense. This whole exchange started
when you rudely barged in on a discussion about helmets and proclaimed
that no one gives a **** what I think. Well, if you don't give a ****
what I think, how can my thoughts annoy you? And if you don't give a
**** what I think, why did you bother to research my posting history?
Short Answer is, you blindly and rabidly support the bu$h regime's
obscene violence, its lies, its tax payer theft, and its illegal,
immoral, and totally unprovoked terror attack against the innocent
people of Iraq. You feverishly reject The Truth, because The Truth
exposes you as a gullible sheep who's been badly duped by a criminal,
treasonous, incompetent, and out of control regime.
Obviously, you *do* give a **** what I think, which is actually a
good sign, as you have much to learn about your government and its
    barbaric, destructive policies.
The uptight, easily offended, freedom hating, war mongering sheep
who support the bu$h regime, and scream hysterically when someone
speaks The Truth, are just a tiny minority here, Mike. The rest are
mostly good people. It's my duty as a dedicated Patriot to enlighten
the few who remain tragically ignorant...

  17. It certainly would be an uphill battle, and it would be a tough issue to
    champion as a politician. Good thing 16 yr-olds can't vote, though! :)

The biggest challenge, I think, would be getting voter support for such an
issue. Many of the voters are the very people who would fail the more
rigorous testing, and although they probably don't realize they're poor
drivers, they probably also don't think there's any benefit to overhauling
    the current system.
