I do think he has the potential to do really well this year.

Last season he was with a satellite team, a rookie and riding the bike
to some degree like a 250.

Everytime he crashed (and god knows he did many times) it was a front
end washout, pushing too hard (250 style??). It seemed to me he was
pushing to keep up but the bikes front end went off abruptly once the
tyres were getting worn (or a couple of times on cold tyres) I wonder
if the team were unable to resolve that issue and Stoners desire to win
or bust attititude ended in disaster, either Stoner had to back off or
his team needed to get a better setup.

This year however he has a year of experience behind him, a factory
team possibly (hopefully) better able to resolve any bike issues and a
bike that appears to ride closer to a 250 than the 990's did which may
    well suit his style.

All said it appears he has things in his favour this year and I
wouldn't be suprised to see him do very well and be much more
consistant than last year, of course assuming the Duc is on the pace.
