One of the commentators was saying that some teams were using double
insulation on the tyres on the grid. Tyre warmers and then a blanket
over that due to the relatively cold wind blowing around. I guess Ducati
didn't do that. Then there's Stoner's habit of falling right to the back
during the warm up lap, then gassing it round the circuit to arrive last
on the grid with the warmest tyres. Followed by Ducati's fuel strategy
that leans off the engine on the warm up lap. Looks like it all caught
him out as he gave it a big handful, with a snappy engine, on colder
    tyres than expected.

Winning one time a champion chip does not necessarily mean you are a
champ. In my eyes it was more like day tripper, as Roberts jr. was. There
was another guy spectating at valencia, who also won just one champion
chip, but who is a champ, because he showed over years the willingness to
race and win. I think Stoner still have some potential, but will be eaten
up by rising stars like Spies next season. If you take a look in one or
two decades in a sports alumni, you will see Stoner finished fourth in
MotoGP 2009 and you will wonder how he ever made it to win a champion
    chip in 2007.

And anyway, SPOILER or not, when do you think a message is not a spoiler?
Is one race-weekend enough, will say three weeks??? How much time must go
    down the drain?

I don't mean to sound rude, but why come to a Motorcycle racing usenet
newsgroup just after a race has finished ? I sometimes watch the races
recorded too. There's no way I'd look on here if I was worried about
finding out the result, just like I'd not go to MCN or Autosport..

Instead of "Stoner threw it away," you title it "Big Development for
    Stoner at Valencia [Spoiler Warning]".

That's a good point. Maybe we can coddle the guys who do ;-). Actually,
it may be that they are carrying on other threads that demand daily
    attention.

    You must be fucking JOKING

Stoner has won 20 races, unlike a certain "world champion" [sic] he
    has only "won" 3 races.

hatdey didnt win the Championship, Rossi/Yamaha lost it, hayden should
do the man thing and HAND IT BACK!

AND **** KNOWS WHY THE HELL DUCATI HAVE EMPLOYED THIS NO HOPE
    RIDER.....AGAIN IN 2010? WTF?

Hayden won it fair and square. Yeah Rossi/Yamaha had problems, but it
came down to the wire in Valencia and Rossi threw it away, Hayden kept his
cool and took the crown. Fair play to him.
Personally I'm glad that Ducati have retained Hayden, and if it winds you
up in the process, that's a fucking bonus in my book. HAHAHAHA

Well to possibly spoil somehow again, but Kevin Schwantz was spectating
at Valencia and was ment with a champ. He has won a couple more than
three races... (and had only one Champion Chip in GP500 /1993)
