This is Stoner's first ride at Laguna, right?

He binned it last year but look at him in first practice, fastest!!!!
I'm dead keen to see how he goes this weekend but that is
unbelieveable, say all you want how good the bike is but he just
continues to impress, the guy is a star.

Notice the lap summary at the end, nearly all his laps were in the mid
1.23's, if his tyres can last race distance he may well be in for the
top podium spot. Melandri is on fire too, easily the fastest Honda,
the Stones certainly seem to be working so far 1st, 2nd , 3rd then 3
Michelins. DuHamel apparently struggling to get used to the bike,
    great performance from Roger Lee.

    Tomorrow will be very interesting.

You've got to feel for Duhamel, Davies and root for Roger Hayden. I
can't imagine what Chaz is going through.

This don't mean nothing. But Duhamel is 1.3s behind Ben Spies. He's 1.3s
behind Barros in 16th. 1.3s off Stoner is Roger Hayden in 15th. At least
Duhamel is faster on a GP bike than on his Honda. Hodgson is 2.4s off
Spies. That's huge. Zemke, 3s off Spies. That's an eternity.

If I was concerned about the AMA series it wouldn't be so much about the
front two. It would be about how spread out the remaining serious teams
are before you get to the hoards of amateur teams.

New lap record, all Michelins too, Rossi down in 9th, Vermulen finding
some speed, were these times on Q's?

Melandri down after clipping Kurtis Roberts. Looks like Kurtis rolled
off and sat up but didn't get right out the way in the middle of a fast
corner. Red Flag while they replace the air fence. Melandri looks ok,
but may not be out again in this session.

Rossi off this morning when he drifted into the gulley on the edge of
the track on the run up to the corkscrew. He's damaged his hands.
Probably worst is his right hand but the left little finger is a mess.
