Got one, he's not keen on working in confined spaces though. There's 8
to do and obviously the accessible outer ones will be the easiest. It's
the central ones (like directly behind the front wheel) that will cause
the most grief and I'm not sure an impact driver will get in there.

Take the front wheel off. Failing that remove the forks. Don't ****
    around, you need the space.

Only choice where a socket won't fit and *much* better than an
open-ended one. Mined ewe, since the OP is dealing with socket head
    bolts, we're both wrong.
    Oh *bless*.

I tried the whole soaking in WD40, Plus Gas, execessive heat and all
that bollocks with Adie's Bandit 600 exhaust bolts. In the end I had to
remove the engine from the frame to give Bonners access to helicoil the
3 threads that had broken bolts in.

Fucking stupid design. What's wrong with studs and nuts?

A few blows from this mother onto an impact driver and bolts come undone
through fright more than anything else.

I'd have thought they'd have unwound and dropped onto the floor
spontaneously as you enter the garage.

Naah, bollocks. 6 point flank drive _every_ time. There is a much
bigger area of contact with a 6 point than a 12, much less likely to
round the fastener off. Flank drive type too, you have to rip the
head off the bolt rather than round it off. Can be a bastard getting
the corroded nut out of a flank drive socket once it has come off,
    mind.

Having said that, the tool you need is a proper hex driver that will
fit onto a 3/8" drive T-bar or ratchet ... or an impact driver. Don't
**** about with madeofbrittlecheese Allen keys, fer ****'s sake.

    Heat - very hot.
Penetrating fluid (Plus Gas) - loads of it.
Impact - shock the corrosion free.
    Helicoil kit.

    Sorted.

Oh, it's not that bad, they've got a knurled outer edge so I'm sure mole
grips would provide a suitable backup - not.

    Use a decent socket/ring spanner
Go for a fast ride and get 'em hot first. Then apply a blowlamp to get 'em
    hotter one at a time.

Be patient, time spent working the studs to and fro for ten minutes is
quicker than farting about with stud extractors later...

Double negative there, i take it you dont want round head!
Try spraying a little wd40 on them and wait a day, then try tightening them
ever so slightly and then untightening them. Always works for me. But make
sure you use a socket set and not a spanner.
