Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, Pip
Well, given that Ogden's his doppelganger, this one must be a
    tripleganger.

It's not like SteveH at all. Look, he's realised and admitted that he's
bought a complete POS - SteveH would be defending it to the death.

To be fair, it _is_ a shite old Rover with quite possibly one of the
worst engine designs of recent times.

I'll grant you that. Guess what **** bought a new 216SLi on the advice
of Top Gear's review? I will never, ever put my own money into a Rover
product for as long as I shall live.

Mother in Law has a very pampered MGF. Full history, and I mean _full_ -
absolutely no expense spared, everything done at the main dealer type of
    stuff.

Blew it's head gasket at, ISTR, 22k miles and just outside of warranty.

I'll give the dealer credit for paying for the work to be done for an
all-in cost of the relevent service, but it's not good enough.

My sister just sold hers. Absolutely and totally immaculate, 7K miles on
the clock with FSH etc on a 97 R plate. She paid 21K for it, got 6500
back. **** me, do they lose money.
I told her about this, she thought she'd be OK. That was until she
watched Watchdog and saw other reports. Then she went and bought a
Cooper S and sold the MGF. I haven't a clue why she buys these types of
car, she never drives more than 5 miles at a time and never drives above
60mph. She's scared stiff when she's behind the wheel.

Once upon a time she wanted to buy an Audi TT, but she insisted on
looking at the 225 bhp version. I borrowed one from my old next door
neighbour, who is an Audi salesman in Sheffield. I took her for a test
drive in it and scared her senseless by just accelerating as fast as I
could make it go. She didn't buy one cos she thought it a bit wild for
her tastes. She was as white as a sheet when I got her home.
