Steroids, why not?

  1. I don't understand what all the ''fuss'' is about(?) concerning Athletes
    using steroids.
    I think that's part of it.! It seems, the Team Physicians prescribe the
    stuff. (Apparently so?) how else do they get the stuff, and what else is
    the stuff for? Got me? Let em take the stuff, I say!

    According to the Arthritis Foundation:
    <quote>
    There's no doubt about it - corticosteroids work, and they work quickly to
    get damaging and painful inflammation under control. Unfortunately, they
    also carry side effects like brittle bones, cataracts and elevated blood
    sugar - particularly if they are taken in high doses or for long periods of
    time.
    </quote>

    There are other side effects that they didn't mention: high blood pressure
    and kidney/liver damage. I know first hand.

    As for the type of steroids that athletes use, the old adage applies: "Live
    fast, die young and leave a beautiful corpse."
