stencilling

So I'm thinking of stencilling some small words on the polished aluminum
airbox covers of my 83 VF850C Magna. What works? How about those
"press-on" letters? Can I do up a graphic on my computer and print it on
some clear plastic and stick it on? Will a copy-place or printing company
have something appropriate? The bike is NOT ridden in bad weather anymore
so I'll only have to contend with a bit of heat and hopefully not too much
moisture.
