    '87 CBR600, 20k "easy" mi. CV Keihins.

I had to pull carbs, clean pilot jets, etc about 6 weeks ago.
Seemed to be running about as good as ever.

Added something from an old can of Stabil to gas yesterday. Rode
about 12 mi., spent 20 min. in a store, came out, it wouldn't
start. Tried 0 throttle, 1/8 throttle, 1/2 throttle, even (very
briefly) with 1/3 choke. Stood around thinking about it for 6-8
min., tried full throttle and it shot up to 5k rpm in a flash.

Operating conditions were normal. About 68 F. Nothing out of the
    ordinary about the ride.

Same thing used to happen -very- infrequently in previous years: I'm
    guessing once every 2 seasons.

"El Motore'" was flooded? Any notion as to what might've caused it?

    TIA,
    Puddin'

I rode about 8 mi. today, parked it for 20 min., came back, it
turned a couple-3 crank revs and started fine with no throttle.

The problem is infrequent and not something obvious.
