Got to catch the redeye tomorrow. Is there any bike parking near the terminal?
You can park right outside of the offices at the long stay car park. Just over a fiver a day from memory
What about the poles that hold the canopy up just as you walk in to the main terminal building? There's always been bikes chained to them when I've had the misfortune of going up there.
Well their website says that it's free of charge now. <quote> Parking Bicycles/Motorbikes at Stansted Airport Parking is free for motorbikes in the dedicated zone (D) of the long stay car park. </quote> Looks like TOG might have to catch the car park bus with all the other pikeys.
Short term car park (C ?) - dedicated area for bikes, free. Very close to the entrance to the check-in area. Not under a roof, though, so exposed to whatever the weather fancies throwing at the bikes there. Had mine there 3 x 1-3 week periods this summer - no problems.
Andy Bonwick emerged from their own little world to say Was a motorway view high on your list of house purchase criteria?
<snip> Job done. Free bike bay bang opposite the terminal (car park C, if anyone else wants to know). But *Christ*, it was a cold run up there early this morning. Return journay - Stansted to the Chateau in fractionally over one hour....
Heh. But you wouldn't want to be woken up by me at 5am as I catch the 0625 red-eye. Still, as this trip will have to be repeated - I might. Thanks. Incidentally, RyanAir rocks. Actually *early* going on, bang on time going back, what more do you want? Lubeck is a funny airport. It's apparently an old WW2 Luftwaffe field, One runway an' a big shed masquerading as a terminal.
Was the plane more than half full? You mentioned you were able to get a fairly cheap nominal fare not very long in advance - which might indicate lots of empty seats. I've been on several fully booked fights with them - also delayed ones, when their no-seat reservation policy has made me feel like a sheep as never before. Very poor information before boarding, and endless queuing .. . . But as you say, they _might_ be very punctual - due to the lack of take-off queues at the airfields they operate from.
