Does any experience a high frequency vibration on the handle bars. My local
Honda dealer says there is nothing wrong with the bike, but my right hand
goes numb after an hour or so.

Before I start talking to Honda, I would like to know if anyone else has the
    problem

    Cheers,

Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, Fred Day
Are you gripping the throttle too tightly?

Seriously, I still catch myself doing that quite often. It's when the
pins and needles start that I remember. Again...

As he said, I sometimes find myself doing on the way home from work.

My Thunderace buzzes quite noticeably at 5K revs, so I just ride faster.

  5. Get the carbs balanced - really balanced not just to the 'near enough'
spec in the book. The 1300 is a less refined engine than the 1100 but
    it shouldn't be too bad.

Really? How's he meant to do that then?

  7. Using decent quality vacuum gauges - it's not rocket science. The
Honda spec is for the carbs to be within 1" of mercury the same as each
other, but it's easily possible to get them closer than that.

On the 1300 just think of the throttle bodies as carbs for the purposes
of balancing them (in case you were trying to be clever) as they
effectively do the same job as far as this is concerned.

1" of mercury makes a hell of a difference to the running of most bikes.
I try to get them as close to perfect as possible. You really do notice
the difference on something like a ZZR1100 or even Nigel's Gold Wing.

Then I'll admit to having learned something - I didn't think you needed
    to balance electronic fuel injection.

  10. That's my thoughts on it too - I always try to get them as near as
possible - some bikes seem better than others at getting a close sync.

  11. Yup - it's still got a throttle for each cylinder. The FI deals with
the fueling but the air is controlled by the throttle valves.

What makes you say that? He recieved several replies that pointed to
the likely cause of the problem.
There was certainly a recall to re-torque all the engine mounts in a
    particular order.

BTW - top posting (typing your reply above the quoted material) is
frowned on on Usenet generally and especially in this group.

I'd check your news propogation or your comprehension abilities.
    Glad to hear it.
And this is more helpful than the advice he has already received how?
It might be worth you checking the position of your cursor.
