Does anyone know who in Sydney used to sell /still sells a cafe racer
set of parts for the SRV250? I read somewhere that someone was selling
clip-ons, rearsets, 2 into 1 exhausts and seat cowls.

    Would appreciate any help.
    Cheers

Don't know about the rearsets and seat cowl, but Pipemasters used to do a 2
    into 1 for the SRV.

Rather than clipons, you might be happy with 'ace' bars which fit to the
original bar clamps. There are a few different styles around, but aren't as
common as they were in the 60's and 70's..

I believe the company which made the kits was based in Gosford, but I
was told they moved to Perth. Can't find any info thru google, though.

    I called Pipemasters (http://www.pipemasters.net/indexfront.html) and
they do a pipe for the SRV250 for $680.

Thanks guys - I'm still keen to track this down somehow. $680 for the
pipe alone is a bit steep unless I can track down the other parts to
complete the job. If only I could understand Japanese - plenty of
websites showing bikes with serious mods.

I ended up buying a stainless steel system from Pipemasters
(http://www.pipemasters.net/indexfront.html) for the SRV. Total cost for
SS was $870, but I could have bought mild steel for $680. It came with
the obligatory stationary noise test plate, which should make it legal
    in NSW.

The bike now has a much smoother and more consistent throttle response
at low revs, and has generally better response across the entire rev
range. Fuel consumption has improved by about 10%, as well.

I had no real trouble fitting the pipe, although it did not come with a
bracket for the header pipe. I refused to use the bracket from the old
pipe as I would have had to cut the pipe to remove the bracket, so they
supplied a new bracket for no extra cost.

The only real drama with the experience was actually getting the pipe
out of the manufacturer in the first place - they must be very busy or
high disorganised as it took two months and several phone calls to get
it made. However, I am happy with the result. Fabulous sound, better
performance and it looks good, too.

    The contact details are:
    Pipemasters motorcycle Exhausts
    41 Allison Street
    Mayne 4006
    Queensland

    Phone: 07 3252 3939
    Fax: 07 3852 1066

    Hope this helps

    Ron.
