What did he say? 110k each way, so 220k per day = 1100 k per week
= 52800 per year, so by the time he's ready to retire in two years
it'll have 5600 on the clock and he can sell it as almost new!

Ahh.. technology has overtaken you, young sharks. Most[1] new bikes have
digital odometers which count all the way to 199999. He's going to have to
    keep it for 4 years.

On a warm Clownsville day, the frame rails get uncomfortably hot, and
I wind up with very warm knees. Hot weather doesn't seem to bother the
bike itself, just a quirk with the way it dissipates heat, and not
    noticeable in cool weather.

I might add that I found the riding position a bit too agressive, and
had Tingate aftermarket bars fitted, much more comfy.

    Cheers,

    Snip

    Hi Ken,

I know its not what your after but a BMW R1150RT has the following attributes:

    *Comfortable
    *heated grips
    *no chain
    *excellent weater protection
    *10K between services
    *ABS
    *telelever front suspension
*Options like CD player and heated vest.

And they are more than capable of going fast, don't be fooled by the looks.

There is K1200RS that is more sporty but has the same quality attributes.

If your doing mega miles in all seasons might as well get a bike thats built for it.

But Boky, I believe EVERYTHING I read !!

Naah, just not a big fan, can't see the point. Adding weight for no real
benefit (now ABS is worth the weight imnsho)

  8. especially around here eh? :p
makes for better brakes I reckon, and does PerfBikes.

They did a comparo of a shedload of bikes recently-ish and the DCBS VFR was the best braker, better even than the ABS VFR, CBR6, 'blade etc.

But yes, it is added complexity for technologys sake, but thats Honda, esp on the VFR.
