Sprint handling question

The front end of my Sprint gets a bit "floaty" at 100+. What can I do to
improve it? The fork oil is 7.5wt atm. Would a heavier oil improve things?
The preload is set one stop below max.
    Help!

Have you stuck a cable tie round the fork leg to see how much travel
you're using? Setting the preload (front?) to near max is probably not
a good thing unless you're a seriously fat ****, & may well be the
cause of your problems if it's making the front too high & thus pushing
    the weight bias back.

Haha - probably quite apt but no help.

Btw can you email me the contact details for B&Bs in Fort William you
mentioned in reply to my previous post? Email address is valid with obvious
    modification. TIA.

I'm about 12 stone in old money. I followed the advice of quite a fat ****
and jacked the preload up. The handling seemed better at lower speeds but
gets vaguer(?) higher up. With the standard (less preload) setting, the bike
wallowed slightly in fastish bumpy bends.

Preload should just be used to control the amount of available
suspension you use. Stick a cable tie on the fork leg & set the preload
so you have around 10mm unused travel during normal use.

Wallowing on bumps is down to damping, & possibly geometry. If upping
the damping a bit doesn't help, slide the forks up through the triple
clamps a bit (try 5mm increments) to get more weight over the front
wheel. Or if you've got a rear ride height adjuster, jack that up a bit.

is well regarded on the UKGSer forum, and actually in the town

I have stayed here with Randi (yes, that is her name, she's a yank) and
Andrew. It was some time ago but others have used it since. Very quiet
rural location, seems the local pub is not open very often.

He's got rid of the photo of me & my TDM850 on his website. Bastard.
