The Wobbly Lot is about in force, by the looks of it...

FFS, if I'm in a car, even one that goes relatively well like my
RX-7[1], I should *not* be able to catch up with a modern 600 on a
    relatively traffic-free A-Road.

Especially if I'm not even breaking the speed limit in the process.

[1] TOG can attest to that, and it's been mapped properly since

Went down to the local Ducati dealer thei afternoon. Went in & it's a
fucking small car park to be fair, but this bloke going out on a big
**** off Ducati sports jobbie. Well, I'm not perfect, but this fucker
was all over the place, wobbling & fucking about. I looked to see if he
had hand controls at one point.

    Not good.

Is it really still spring-like over there then? It's been high summer
here for most of the last three weeks, with just a couple of days
having showers and max temps of around 20C. Today's been glorious
again, with 25-28C depending on location (i.e. 28C driving up the
motorway, a bit lower at home).

returning home from work in my truck, I passed 6 new HDs right off the
dealer floor[1] on the freeway. It looked like a parade for Mid-Life
    Crisis Anonymous.

[1] No number plates on any of them.

  5. To be fair, after having a go in a mate's RX-7, to say they go
"relatively well" is bit of an understatement. :)
    Ah. Er...twisty road?

It's a lot warmer than usual at the moment - which means everybody[1]
got their classic cars & bikes out and almost all the convertibles are
now driven with the roof down - but it's still spring in the sense that
the plants are still in "spring mode".

Well, mine's *cough* relatively *cough* mild by modified RX-7 standards
(just breathing mods and a mappable ECU), but then again it's a fairly
light car. But now that the engine's run in, they've put the boost up
where it should be and put the proper map on so it's getting
interesting. Mind ewe, I'm still learning my way around this car as I'm
not one of those people who like boasting that they entered a bend at
"only 20mph" and exited it backwards, through a hedge. Plus, I'm slowly
upping the revs (another 500 miles where I shouldn't go above 6.5k) so
I guess once I'm familiar with it, I'll be able to keep up with a
    Vauxhall Corsa. Just :).
Not particularly, more a nice flowing one - A272 somewhere around
Buxted, IIRC. Got enough straight bits to have someone as timid as me
overtake, but still nicely winding through the countryside. Lovely road
    there, by the way.

I certainly wasn't driving like I was on a mission and even then I'd be
overtaken by Pip or Black Mike when they're taking it slow in a car...

Or those who have their classic convertibles cluttering up their own
workshop. It was jolly warm today, but that may have been something to
do with the fact that I was welding bits to it.

  12. Fucking muppets the lot of you. Have you got nothing better to do on
your ride than bother with cunts. These types exist soon enough only as
an image in my mirrors and then only briefly. I have moved on.

    FFS, not again.

Whatever happened to "ride your own ride"?

I was being overtaken by artics in the M25 on Friday afternoon and cars
on NSL A-roads yesterday, but then I was restricted to 3.5k revs, which
    is about 60mph.

OK, makes sense. I didn't think they were that fast - no torque and mine
was electronically 'rev limited' to about 130 in top. (Not even as fast
as Swim's MR2...) I had the model before that also (12B?) and that was
    *positively pussy*...

I was riding very slowly because I'd spent all morning bike washing and
polishing, and so I was determined to give all the bugs time to get out
    of the way.
