How about this Saturday (28th) for the engine swap? I only need
assistance with the actual extraction and replacement of the block, so
it shouldn't take too long. I can mess about with carbies and wiring
and exhausts and such in my own time.
OK, how about we make the "do" tentatively for Saturday 11 September?
The weather is warming up again now, so camping will be feasible
    again.

I'll have to check with the RFS, but so far as I know fire
restrictions don't come back in force until October 1.

    Better you than me :)

How about I aim for 14:00 Sat? I can bring my BMW toolkit, and other bags
of metal fettle. And some munchies and some drinkies. What are you on:
    red, amber, green... or blue?
Dunno. With two elections looming, sooner or later my free time is going
    to vanish altogether.
I think it will be colding up again before summer :)

  5. You might want to check with air traffic control too.

  7. Now there's a scary thought. I know perfectly well what the RFS is. But
Sept 11?? Better not put the tanks up in a hurry, they'll make a bigger
    target.

Hmm, I didn't think of that! It's also the anniversary of the S-11
    anti-globalisation protest, if that counts.
