You seem to know little about race-craft and even less about the mental
toughness of a mutli-world champion. Unless the kissing fucked up
    Rossi's gear shift maybe.

"Hope Hayden enjoys his 1 & only MotoGP championship"

And that's the bottom line, when all is said and done, Hayden, although I
was pleased to see him get this freak win after his bad luck 2 weeks ago is
simply not in the same class as Valentino Rossi, he doesn't come close.
Nicky Hayden knows it, Nicky Hayden's family knows it (witness close up
shots where they all had fingers crossed the whole race) The Valencia
circuit management had already spent countless thousands on yellow pyro
tehcnic smoke for end of race celebrations ... If I was a betting man, I'd
have happily bet £1000 on Rossi to win today, its just one of those things,
nobody in their right mind would say Hayden is a more talented rider than
Rossi, he just had Lady Luck shine on him today, that's all.

Face it, this was a freak win for Nicky Hayden, in time, if he doesn't
follow up next year, he and everyone else will know it too.

Who really expects Nicky Hayden to do well next year, cmon folks, think
    about it :)

Having said that, luck can make a winner, so well done Nicky, you have a
great supportive family behind you, today was your day.

Its points that count, no matter how you get em.

Man of the day and year, of course goes to Troy Bayliss, no question.

Troy Bayliss made an absolute fool of the crème of the crop, well done Troy.

i don't see many claiming hayden is more talented, but the key is that he is
a deserving champion. he rode smart and made the right choices. luck...
every racer needs some at the end of the day, and rossi also had luck smile
on him in the past - along with undeniable talent. it all evens out over the
mid term when it comes to luck in most cases...
he has never done that badly, you know, and he will do very well again next
year, that would be my bettibg choice.

the exciting thing about next year is that the title looks damn open. a
score of guys now look able to win any race... when was that the case in the
recent past? one thing is sure in 07: rossi will not win the chmpionship if
he rides for the win in every race. makes for errors in a more even field.
hauden got them in style. podium finishes did not come easy in 06.
    day, yes. year? no.
in one race, with nothing to lose. if one win sways your opinion like that,
then hayden has even more dominsnt laguna wins to his credit.

Troy Bayliss made an absolute fool of the crème of the crop, well
    done Troy.

Bloody good job, but he had nothing to lose unlike Capirossi, Hayden
and Rossi. Stoner and Pedrosa were not going to be anywhere near
Hayden so discount them. Melandri had a reason to throw caution to the
    wind but seemed unable to.

So you could say Troy beat Melandri, Elias, Nakano, Roberts, Edwards in
a straight fght Which don't sound so impressive..

You talk out of your arse Pablo, so i will cut to the chase.
In case you missed something, Troy Bayliss in his late 30's also won this
    years WSB Championship.

    You are an idiot Pablo.

    Sorry.

Except for the fact he hadn't ridden a MotoGP Bike and race for how long?
never rode on those tires before? he's in his late 30's? not even his home
    track.

He lead from start to finish, he was the star of Valencia and a damn good
    WSB 2006 Champion as well.

What can you do on a Bike?

    Nuff said.

your approach betrays your intellect and ability to disagree on nuances of
    an argument.

it's no putdown to disagree on bayliss as rider of the year. i have always
thought highly of him, but my opinion is motogp is the harder discipline.
awesome as today's ride was, and great as his wsb title is, hsyden to meis
still rider of the year because he won the most coveted title in motorcycle
    racing.

i won't call those who disagree idiots. but i'll call you an imbecile any
    day.

    Fine by me Pablo-Bot.

If you cant recognise Bayliss winning a 2006 WSB title, then going on to
lead this weekends Valencia MotoGP from start to finish at his age, as any
thing but remarkable, even after beating your hero in your proclaimed
Coveted title of the year ... FFS man, Hayden should have won this!!!! if
you cant give Bayliss recognition, for this remarkable win, then you really
are talking out of your arse once more and deserve more insults.

If I'm an imbecile, you are a thick, tongue twisted, un-knowledgeable about
all things Motor Cycle racing ... road sweeper on overtime to pay his back
rent on his trailer home. Thou misbegotten fat-kidneyed mumble-news!

Now, **** off you twat :)

  10. How many winning racers?
Capirossi himself (not exactly a gentleman in his forst years) hit
Harada only when he was 1 point ahead.
I could understand someone doing something like that when he really has
nothing to lose but if you go check the race warm up it would have been
stupid for Hayden doing something like that since it was abvious that
Rossi had some problems (and the race outcome shows it clearly I would
    say)

I can put performances in context whether on a bike or not, which is
more than you seem able to do.

rossi's mental toughness is unmatched, but he's also human. all we can
infer is what happened on the track, and when under pressure to
perform, rossi - who RARELY makes mistakes - buggered up the start and
ended up sitting on his arse in the gravel a few laps later.

    rossi is human.
