The cut out would only work at idle, it would be tested and approved by
the safety-nazis, if the bike is still revving it of course wont cut
    out [thank God]

GREAT lead by the Bayliss/Ducati duo, they dont need 1200cc only 1100cc

  3. To heck with that. What happened to our favourite starting grid
    cameramen?

In previous superbike races, the cameramen were masters at 'framing'
interesting views from the grid (always a bike in view) usually from
very near to ground looking up. :)

Last night, nothing but the bikes and riders with only long shots of the
    grid girls. :-(

    Heh heh "Quedge-cam"!
If you did that at your local shopping-mall you'd be locked up but on a
    racetrack it's OK!!

He was where they all walked past coming off the grid. Plenty of fun bags on
    screen.

  6. Bayliss's bike fell on the left side so with no one holding the throttle
open why would it still be revving and not cutting out?

I seem to remember a rain-soaked race at Donington a few years back when
Bayliss fell off twice and they still reckoned there wasn't a problem
    with the cut-out. How strange!

For the same reason you lift off the throttle and the vehicle still
keeps moving...inertia, the rear wheel was still rotating so the engine
therefore was still operating and running.I doubt it would run at idle,
anyway it can be bump-seat started if required
Not at all, the safety-nazis have tested and approved it, its within
spec and inside the requirements/rules.No better or worse than any
other bike on the grid. They must all meet the requirments its the SBK
    rules

The question is HP does NOT rule, the Ducati is a good 20HP less than
the 4's and yet laps at the same lap times, more than 1 way to skin a
cat [NO WEIGHT ADVANTAGE NO cc ADVANTAGE, just pure Italian
Engineering, and a bloody good rider]

The Donington time he was pulled aside by the scrutineers and the bike was
    tested on both sides.
Each time the cut-out functioned as it should so he was waved off but there
was still a cloud of suspicion over him and rumblings that if he beat
Edwards there might be some appeals/threats etc.. (Honda pulled out ANYWAY)
As it turned out Edwards beat him so there were no more repercussions .....
until now when Bayliss benefits from a fortuitiously non-functioning
    cut-out again!
