Good quality replacement faceplates. Expensive though, but they are made
from the proper semitranslucent stuff like the originals.
Or you could get a motrax adaptor, which simply gears the speedo so that
the numbers you read are actually mph.

Remember that if you replace the faceplate, the trip/mileage is still
showing in Km, whereas the motrax gearing thing changes that to miles.

Oh, they do digital ones as well, then. I think redial do digital
    conversions too.

Rexx, do you think that just once you could pause to consider if you
know *anything* about the subject before giving advice?

An 03 R1 has an electrically driven digital speedo. Faceplates and
re-gearing are not really viable options.

Not a funny question - if I can go out and get a remapped BMW engine
management chip (admittedly several years ago) couldn't someone do a
little gizmo to plug in to the feed wire & adjust the electrical pulses
    to the speedo.

Or is it much more complicated than just leccy pulses?

Can anyone help is there a way of changing the speedo to read MPH instead of
KPH on my Imported 03 R1. Thanks

FFS. They all do their own conversions, it will be a simple matter of
pressing the right buttons - as Des appears to have explained.

  10. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember "Mungo \"three sheds\" Toadfoot"

Never dismiss the unlikely cowpat propelled after the internal
    overpressure.

I've got one of those motrax gear thingies for my Bandit. It's good, but
having a speedo that goes up to 240mph is a bit funny though.

    Pip says...
This isn't always the case. On some models of R1 and R6 the UK model is
the only one that gets the MPH and KMH option at the press of a button.
Other EU models have KMH only speedos. There is an additonal black box
that can be plugged in-line to remedy this on a permanent basis, i.e.
you don't get the KMH option just a conversion to MPH.

  14. What's option "C" for then? The £95 one for digital speedos?

Is this a new rule just for Rexx, or does it apply to all of us now?
