The speedo face on the turbo is very faded and has also wrinkled. To the
point the needle sticks on 90mph and I have to be doing over 120 to get
    it over the lump.

The face looks as if it's been printed on an inkjet using normal paper
then stuck to the clock (although there is no trace of the original).
    This has now faded...

I'll be utilising a biro and a bit of pritt stick to resolve the
    immediate problems but does anyone:

    (a) have any suggestions
    (b) able to make me a new one
    (c) know of any instrument specialists that could
    (d) have a busted mph GPZ 750A speedo spare?

  2. Check out CMCM - some specialist refurbished the clocks on their project
CB750 and they came up looking like new.

Depends how much you want to spend )

I've dealt with these but only for an instrument recolouring kit in the
    past.

Just an idea, but if you carefully removed it and took it to your local sign
shop, they may be able to make a replacement out of self adhesive vinyl.

  5. The difficulty is getting at the speedo face.

The bezels on the clocks are rolled on with a special tool and are
well-nigh impossible to remove without damaging them and almost as hard
to put back without it showing. That said, there are specialists who can
    do it (see other posting).

Four screws on the back despite the Kwack base manual saying they are a
    sealed unit.

I'll probably try to source an accident damaged GPZ unit and have the
face off that (if it goes up to 160mph) or get an instrument or sticker
    specialist to make one.

Maybe someone at http://www.redial-uk.co.uk/ can help? They have quite an
impressive range of standard dials, as well as a link to "Custom Dials" (one
of which even features what seems to be a penetration by a
    beer-toting-monster..?! :-o)

    smart answer.

I've got to take the fairing apart and put it back together on the 7R
soon-ish, as it's a little flappy since after I ran over the asylum
    seeker.

It's cold in my garage, though - any recommendations for a
    cheap-but-useful space heater?

I've got an electric sucking 'turbo' fan heater which works well. This
arrangement has the advantage of me not having to pay for electricity.

The electricity comes out of the magic wire which appears from a hole in
    the wall.

The Electric board keep leaving notes saying they want to inspect my
meter - I'm rather hoping they don't as they may want to install one.

I thought this thread was going to be related to camel toes.

    Luckily, not.

    I've got one of these:
    http://www.machinemart.co.uk/product.asp?p=010412138&r=2144&g=118

Seems to do the trick - there's no way it can heat all of my double
garage, but if you put it so it's blowing across where you're working,
    it's fine.

    electricity.

oh well, I'm sure whoever actually is paying for it wouldn't mind.

I probably should have told you earlier, but my mate who'd a graphic
designer made that dial, and I applied it. From that, you can deduce
that access to the speedo face is pretty straightforward.

I guess I shouldn't have just used ordinary paper. If I can find the
original image, perhaps we could get it printed on laminate?
