    dixit Cab:
bloody sarkozy. the man is like portillo on steroids. i can't believe
he's being nominated for prime minister. i get that "le pen stands a
fighting chance of being president" icy hand in my guts.

anyway, i expect they will end up alongside the previous camera
experiments, at least in this region. id est, perforated by chasseur shot
    or something closely resembling it.
nobody paid any attention to the law about the length of cipher keys
anyway. actually that's not true, there was des...

Do the UK gov (or councils, etc) provide locations to all their
    radars?

Very true, eh. I never thought about him and Portillo being of the
same vein. However, now you come to mention it...

So when was the last time you took an angle-grinder to a speed camera?

By the look of "Gatso Alley" along the A40 going into Chelters, he's
been quite busy, actually. Five or six of the fucking revenoo
scameras all along nice fast straight straights just waiting for you -
all burned or bent or otherwise savaged.

There's a couple of them featured here:

Fair warmed the old cockles, it did ;-)

Champ wibbled like a little girl....
Like the one in Milton Keynes that I *didn't* see today, mainly because
it looks like someone's gas-axed it and had it away with the whole
    camera box :)

It was worth driving at 30mph just to see the nice work they'd done.

    SPEED CAMERA STAFF 'ABUSED'

Speed camera operators are being subjected to increasing levels
of abuse from road users, an employer has said.

Paul Stephens, operations manager of the Avon, Somerset and
Gloucestershire Safety Camera Partnership, said the abuse was
    getting "out of control."

He said his staff had been pelted with eggs and verbally abused,
adding that one member of staff was on long-term sick leave
    because of stress at work.

Using the patented Mavis Bacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, Platypus
Well I regard it as a moral imperative to treat the cunts in the "safety
camera" vans to a nice juicy KSB as I pass them. I like to feel it marks
    my appreciation of their efforts.

That site has a green wax crayon air about it, can't put my finger on it
    but it just has IYKWIM...

Nevertheless, rather than go to all the effort of noisy grinders,
identifiable lorries etc. I thought of a quick, easy and destructive
method of disabling the ones on dual carriageways.

Using a gunpowder powered nail gun (readily available, but I can't get a
link to HSS) with the most powerful cartridge fire nail/nails into the
lens and radar windows. The guns are powerful enough to drive the nails
through the armour into the actual delicate cameras and detectors.

Where's that then? I'd have expected you , of all people, to spell it
    correctly.

Yes, there are some fixed cameras, although there's a web-site and a
phone-line giving details of their location. I got nicked by a
temporary one in town recently (62 in a 50). Can't remember the fine,
but it wasn't much, perhaps something like chf100. But no points or
    anything, no.

Interesting, however, was the fact that there was no option to claim
'it wasn't me driving'. I guess with no points system they just fine
    the owner regardless.

And your point is? just because it's quite a common mis-spelling
doesn't make it any better. After 11 years in CH I thought you'd be
the last person to do this.

Leave it to the professionals: tape a bundle of candles, wire, bodge
tape and a cheap alarm clock to the front of the thing. Bomb Squad gets
called out and they take the fucker out with a controlled explosion.
    Job done.
