  5. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember Salad Dodger
    Here's to you Mrs Robinson.

That's what I told her (the friend, that is).
Seems that the FPN didn't state the actual speed recorded, so I guess
the court won't have this information, and hence will just treat it as
    an unspecified amount.

Best bet, once the court summons is received, is to plead guilty by post
explaining why the FPN was "ignored". That way the police officer will not
be called to give evidence in court (which might involve the actual speed
    being divulged to the magistrate).

That way she (Graeme?) may get away with the points & fine as a FPN. They
must have dozens of similar cases each year where people cannot provide the
docs in time and probably get dealt with by the Clerk's office and rubber
    stamped by a magistrate.

Sory for the delay - just come back from a rather nice trip to the
    Alcase region of france!

the fact that the video doesnt show his place doesnt really matter -
unless he wants to go along the "it wasnt me" route - in which case he
can expect a video identification procedure and *massively* increased
penalty. they dont have to show the video at the time - it wasnt that
long ago that video evidence didnt exist, If he pleads and an offer of
fixed penalty has already been made it should go to court and the
offer repeated. Not too much of a hassle though

    Good trip, was it?
Ta. Pretty much as I expected and I'll pass it on.

As he was stopped at the time he'd find it difficult to play the 'it
    wasn't me' card, I reckon :)

Dunno what he was on, TBH, but Rhoda's got a zzr1100, so he could have
    borrowed hers, I s'pose.

It was absolutely superb thanks - and what a beautiful region. There
just seemed to be so much community pride and very friendly people.
back again next year I reckon!

Yeah, we quite like it too. Let us know what/when you're planning -
you'd be welcome chez nous, as I've said before. And if you fancy a
trip over on the bike some time there's also some of the best twisties
    this side of the alps.
