I posted a couple of weeks ago asking for help on a couple of Speedfight
that my son had bought. TOG intimated that they were probably stolen, to
which I have to say I took offence. However having made one reasonable
moped out of the two the lad was quite happy.

That wass until today when some thieving little scrote in Worksop
decided, yes you've guessed it, to steal the fucking thing.

Told plod but expect it's the last we'll see of it, but just in case
anyone else gets offered some bit's the plate is/was Y228 HWX.

Hard luck, this happened to my lad twice in the first few months he had his
    'ped.

After the second time I bought a good sturdy chain, and fitted a cheap and
cheesy remote control alarm (off ebay).

Never had any problems following this.

I might consider one as a deterrent against the little herberts who tried
to make off with the Guzzi. That and a ground anchor and chain.

Any other suggestions in the cheap and cheerful alarm department?

You can have the one I found in the garden this afternoon, if it helps.
It was the one off my VT what I sold. It still works just fine despite
being buried in the compost heap.

I just got one of them for the trike, looks a goodish bit of kit if
    fitted properly.

    That one is certainly similar.

The one we used was a Cheetah, like this one:

It was pretty bloody good actually.

    ISTR ours came from Singapore.

It arrived very quickly and was well packed.

Thanks for that but having just spent 3 weekends getting the last one
ready I don't want to do it again. SWMBO has some things that need doing.

What's the groups view on claiming on the insurance, bike insured for
£700 or market value I'm sure. He has to pay £250 excess will he get
hammered next year if he claims & would it affect if he goes for car
    insurance. Is it worth it?
