    I think the problem is more one of security and damage to bikes rather
    than speed per se. Probably more speed in ensuring the bike doesn't fall
    over or is damaged by hamfisted strap applications.

    Simple front wheel clamps would have sufficed shirly. Maybe augumented with
    a strap.

    PO and Stena carry *loads* of bikes across the Irish Channel without
    apparent problems, I can't see what their issue was really.

    In communiqué
    That brings back memories of being asked to go down on to the car deck
    and stand by our machines, as the ferry turned, just after coming out of
    Douglas on the way back from the TT in 81 IIRC.

    The only time I travelled on SpeedOne (with a car) it did seem to bob
    about a bit. More so than I can ever recall on IOMSPC Seacats.

    The hitchlugger trapper does look a bit more high tech than the system
    they used at first on Le Shuttle.
