2 new static GATSO's just out of Hagley village on A456 one on each side
    - no lines on road as yet & not sure if they are active.

A226 London Road 100 yards past Craylands lane Dartford
    Speed Limit: 30
A new camera has recently popped up on the A226 London road, just past
Craylands lane heading towards Dartford. It is a reversible camera but
the white lines are only on one side of the road.

Bruntcliffe Lane.MORLEY. Before Bruntcliffe School MORLEY,LEEDS.
    Speed Limit: 30
There are also two other GATSO's 400yds further down Bruntcliffe Lane.

A643 Elland Road 12 cameras starting Near Churwell Railway Viaduct
    Morley
    Speed Limit: 40
A total of twelve speed cameras have been installed in the last couple
of months on the 1.2 mile section of Elland Road between the Leeds Ring
Road and the "Angel" pub at the A643/A650 junction, here: Location:
    Great Britain Grid Ref:SE249277 X: 425000m Y: 427700m Lat: 53:44:43N
    (53.7453) Lon: 1:37:22W (-1.6227) Web Address:
    www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?lat=53.7453&lon=-1.6227&scale=10000&icon=x
.. There are 10 Fixed GATSO's arranged broadly in pairs either side of
the road, and one pair of Truvelos Near Churwell Primary School.
Installation sites of some of the GATSO's appears to be oddly chosen in
that some are in 40 limit zones, and just beyond, or just approaching
traffic lights or roundabouts where it is unlikely that 40 would be
achieved anyway. There has been speculation locally that all the GATSO's
are dummies (or have no cameras/or share cameras) and have been placed
spaced evenly along the road simply to act as a disincentive to
speeding, whereas the TRUVelo near the school are in earnest. This
hypothesis has not been tested! It appears these *12* cameras have been
installed under pressure from local residents. There is no history of
accidents on Churwell Hill except one (at the Truvelo site) when a very
very drunk driver hit a mother pushing a pram killing both the mother
and her baby. ISTM that local residents were actually concerned about
the high level of HGV traffic to the Junction 27 industrial estates at
the top of the hill, which uses the Elland Road instead of the M621. An
alternative nearby route south ("Wide Lane") has been "traffic calmed"
but council can't "Traffic Calm" all routes so we get speed cameras
instead as a sop and the council gets the revenue. BTW the Truvelo on
the M621 slip road going into Leeds has been removed. It was installed
together with a new 30 limit during recent bridge replacement works
(presumably to protect the workforce) the camera has gone now but the 30
    limit remains. Regards Derek Geldard

St Margaret's Way Outside old swimming bath site Leicester

    road! Beware.

B1296 Old Durham Road Next to the Mossheaps fields Gateshead
    Speed Limit: 30

either side of the road. However, it is hidden between trees so be

you both ways, as people have been convicted for speeding in the other
    way. Highly visible.

Funnily enough I never go near any of those places, but the ones I've left
in are all around when my missus goes to Uni or has been on her placements.

I think they're trying to get to me through her (she's got 3 points ATM, I'm
    clean[1]).

Does the time you gain by speeding exceed the time you lose while compiling
    these lists?

A man's vehicle is a symbol of his manhood.
That's why my vehicle's the Piccadilly Line -
It's the size of a county and it comes every two and a half minutes

Is jumping to conclusions a valid means of travel?

Still too long, even if I generously omit the seperator and the blank lines which
may have come from Gawd knows where.

My god! Are Leeds trying to outdo Blackpool? Is there any justification (in
terms of deaths or injuries) for this? I regularly visit Cottingley, and I
never saw Elland Road as a major accident black spot. Perhaps you are right
and most of them are dummies. Must visit the LCC web site.

Unless you are winding us up of course - which of course you are not...

    com...
Success then (Leeds style). Leeds is marketed as the '24 hour city'. Trouble
is you spend 20 minutes in it and you've had enough.

These councils are forever complaining about not having enough money whilst
wasting it on schemes like this. The problem is that this story is only one
of many in which these b*st*rds strive to waste our money.
