Sounds reasonable. Mind you, if I open up on the FZ1 it doesn't like
    keeping the front wheel down...

i got my gn250 up to 140 down the big hill comin into water fall.

it reved out to 9000rpm and i destroyed the big end bearing , it was low on
    oil

    but it was fun.

rgv250 is 13 secs on that list, its a pretty quick 250.
mine would pull 180 easy, and it was worn out
    not learner legal though

My old DB did 115 on the freeway but the slightest hill or wind would
slow it down to below 100. Very upright position and Lots of wind
    pushing against your chest.

my gf's ZZR250 does 120 no problem. less upgright, less buffeting.
gradual hills dont affect it at all.

my mates CBR250RR has done 150, very tucked in postion with lots less
buffeting. not a particulary comfy bike for long distance touring
    though...

No matter what beginner bike you choose, it will be more than enough
power for you. for the 6 months you have it. I guarantee.

    in what universe?

I'm told that the to speed figure for an R100RS with panniers and
upright rider is only 5-10 k/h less than with the rider tucked in and
panniers removed. Something to do with aerodynamics and wind tunnels.
Mine even seems to go more willingly at 'brisk' velicities if I have a
nice full tank bag in place.

I think the interusewebnet is a more reliable source than Two Wheels, G-S.

  7. 'scuse my ignorance, but isn't Two Wheels the one that makes up, or used to,
more stories than sixty minutes? Boris isn't too bad, he's just been
editing stick mags too long, but I can't see any reason to boycot a mag
'cause of him. Anyway, I don't buy mags, I only read the free ones.
Australian Road Rider would top that list tho'.
