This might sound like a very dumb question, but does anyone know that speed limit on the toll section of the M6? Someone at work is convinced that there is no limit as it is a private road. -- Nursey RN ALS Provider OSOS#25 MIRTTH#6 IbW#09 4#COFF EFFA MOP#1 Honda Deauville (NTV650-V) (Mine) Tweenies Trike (Caitlin's) UKRM FAQ: http://www.ukrm.net/faq/
from the Beeb... Question: If the M6 Toll is a private road, is it subject to the same traffic regulations as other roads? Answer: Yes, although it is private it is still part of the national motorway network and will be policed by the same officers who currently enforce traffic regulations on other West Midlands motorways. I think they're really missing a trick here; surely you should be able to chose your own maximum speed limit when you join the toll road, with a rising scale in the fee for higher limits. At the ultra-deluxe end of the scale you could have no upper limit AND a police escort, to keep the plebs out of your way. I'm sure many people (Cane, for example) would be in favour of such a scheme. -- AndrewR, D.Bot (Celeritas) Kawasaki ZX-6R J1 BOTAFOT#2,ITJWTFO#6,UKRMRM#1/13a,MCT#1,DFV#2,SKoGA#0 (and KotL) BotToS#5,SBS#25,IbW#34, TEAR#3 (and KotL), DS#5, COSOC#9, KotTFSTR# The speccy Geordie twat.
Beav says... Probably not, but they do have to obey the speed limits http://www.lawontheweb.co.uk/motoringnews.htm In his defence its a very easy road to go *very* fast on.
Ta very much. He seems to have the concept of private road and no speed limit. -- Nursey RN ALS Provider OSOS#25 MIRTTH#6 IbW#09 4#COFF EFFA MOP#1 Honda Deauville (NTV650-V) (Mine) Tweenies Trike (Caitlin's) UKRM FAQ: http://www.ukrm.net/faq/
Am I? Oh well, it's probably my age (33 and a bit). I mean I can't even remember if you ever gave me that BHaLC# you were considering. On 22 Jul 2004 07:36:35 -0700, TOG@toil, theres only one toll booth! -- Adie (replace spam with nickname to reply) UKRM FAQ: http://www.ukrm.net/faq/ Triumph 955iSS / GSF600 bandit MRO#11 BOTAFOF#7 BOTAFOT#130 DIAABTCOD#17 MIB#24 YTC#16 BOB#15 ex-UKRMMA#22
Can they time you between the tollbooths, like they do in France?[1][/QUOTE] I doubt it because there is only one toll booth actually on the motorway itself. The rest are on feeder roads. So any average speed would be inaccurate as you go different speeds on the m-way to the feeder roads.
That'll be a whoosh, then. Honestly, the most blatant bit of Des-trolling seems to hook you these days, Cab ))
