Well I started riding in the 70's so the 00s are my fourth decade! (Even
though I've only actually been riding for 32 years and licenced for a mere
    28)

It's actually quite warm in SA.
Just very dry and very windy (and a bit full of serial killers and people
    who sound Pommy).

Warm in South Australia, not when I was there 10 days ago it wasn't!

  5. Hey, I'm just relaying what the filth said to me at the time. He said
one month, not three (we weren't in a 110 zone either). Of course, it
wouldn't be the first time I've encountered a lying cop...

Ditto and ditto (well 30 this year actually), but only 21 licenced.

And I'm still a hoon and I've still been known to go 60+ over (but only
at a racetrack of course officer). But I have slowed down heaps.

    JL
(it's knowing what it feels like when you do a face plant that slows you
down, and it's amazing how much better you get at saves when you know
how damn much it's going to hurt)

Why don't you quite wondering and check out the RTA's web site, which
details the penalties for speeding offences on this page

    http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/rulesregulations/penalties/speeding.html

which states, in part, the following

"There are licence suspension periods, similar to the minimum
disqualification periods applied by a court, for exceeding the speed
limit by more than 30 km/h (3 months), and by more than 45 km/h (6
    months)."

So for more than 30 but less than 45 over the limit, you're up for 4
    points, $575 and a 3 month disqualification.

  8. Yeah, I did quit wondering, and I found that page too. Hoping it was
somehow outdated I called the RTA who confirmed that it is current.
Dunno why the cop told me one month. No Snowy Ride for me this year :-/

I once got a 1-point ticket, and the cop told me it was a 1-point offence.
It was questionable (not turning left in a left-turn-only lane. I'd
actually crossed back out of the lane before the stop-line but thought I
might get a lane-change ticket if I argued) but being only 1 point I paid
it and then they told me it was now a three point offence and the cop was
using an old ticket (and no, I couldn't take it to court now because I'd
    already pleaded guilty by paying!!)
    Goodbye licence!
