100 in a 60?. Been riding long? At those speeds you won't be. You deserve to
be walking. No wonder the rest of us get hassled. Wake up, slow down and
maybe you (and the person you hit) will live a bit longer. Sheer idiocy.

It is stupid if its in a highly populated city area but allot of small
country towns do go overboard with the speed signs until you get 5 kms out
of town and its 60 all the way with no reason, my home town has done it FFS
which makes it totally understandable for me :)

At a guess you ride a Harley or some kind of touring or classic bike and
ride every weekend with the old farts club (Bring on the flames)

What an utterly crap statement Yub, we all know that a Harley can't do
    a 100!

Another sucker buys into the propaganda...
I get up to 60-80 above the speed limit most days and I've been riding for
close to two decades. I don't say this to be a he-man, just to highlight the
fact that speed limits are mostly irrelevant when it comes to road safety.

Hmmm, I remember, back in my miss-spent middle age, when I tried to top
the old, imperial ton, every morning on my way to work.

This was riding Kwakas, GT750 and Turbo 750, on a commute from Marsfield
    to down town Sydney.

Looking back now, I realise how lucky I was to survive.

May I wish you all the luck that you too may survive to see your fourth
    decade of riding.

  11. Tell me you're kidding? Now correct me if I'm wrong, but here in QLD,
40k's over nets you around a $700 fine, 8 points, and 6 months of bus
    trips.

Checking the SA Police website, they even put up a list of where all
the speed cameras are for that day. Amazing - using a speed camera as
an actual, pre-emptive speed deterrent device???

Sheesh - I'm moving to SA! How's the weather down there?

  13. Bzzzt! Wrong. Fort you was a copper?

In NSW +30 but less than 45 over = $575 and 1 month suspension (DAMHIK,
stupid RZ500, it was only doing 6,000rpm too...)

    +45 = $1550 and 6 months suspension

I remember when it was legal. On the way to hospital when my youngest was
being born (I was alone in the car coming from a country town) passing a GT
Falcon at 95 mph in a Type 3 VW. He did look surprised. I got to the
hospital for the birth with three minutes to spare.

I just wanted the OP to read something positive rather than the awful truth
that everyone else was going to give him... and like him, I couldn't be
bothered to google an answer from a reliable source either :)

    check your books

They also just took out the over 130kph = 1 month suspension because cops
    went smart enough to calculate

You also get tickets, although 45 over you could face a dangerous driving
    charge.

  19. Books? I don't need no stinkin' books. That info was told to me by
one of your mobile tax collector mates on Sunday afternoon. Radar
detected 146, ticket written for +30 but less than +45. He said I'll
    be walking[1] for a month.

    Ash.

[1]Country town so no public transport to speak of. I'll probably be
on two wheels still, but pedal powered (if it doesn't kill me anyway).
