Also the A14 between Huntingdon and Cambridge - it's incredibly dangerous since the Scameras were put there. --
Yes I like to get off the main roads with their 40s & 50s and onto the winding country lanes with their (60mph) national limit.
Not all have lower limits for HGV, and even here there is very little enforcement within NSL area's. -- Kevin - Basildon XV535 GPZ305 (her's) BOTAFOT#67 BOTAFOF#23 OSOS#29
[reposted to all groups] 1. Dual carriageway to Single carriageway (70 to 60) 2. NSL to 30 by dint of having street lighting at the requisite spacing (there's one of those near where I live)
Nevermind the fact that now only the bad guys have guns... just like before really... Just wait 'till the government find out how many people die on the roads each year and ban cars, oh, that wouldn't be popular would it. Most other countries 'cope' by having more people killed and seriously injured on the roads than we do. -- Cheers, Euan Gawnsoft: http://www.gawnsoft.co.sr Symbian/Epoc wiki: http://html.dnsalias.net:1122 Smalltalk links (harvested from comp.lang.smalltalk) http://html.dnsalias.net/gawnsoft/smalltalk
Why are drivers so concerned about breaking the new law on Dectectors when they don't give a sh1t about the breaking the laws on speed limits? Surely the same drivers will just ignore the new law as well?
..... at your peril. @Cos one day, there'll be a mobile parked just behind a hedge, Or in amongst a flock of sheep on the road (it *is* Wales!!)
Did you read the line after that one? The DLR is still a supervised system - they have a bloke on board, and people monitoring them. So they're sort of automatic. And that's _one_ railway line - try expanding that out to however many million cars/roads we have, because you can be sure the motorist wouldn't be trusted (or probably even be trained) to deal with the computer in their car going *boom*.
The SPECS at M1/M25 junction? There are no SPECS at the M1/M25 junction but you can always tell the people with GPS based detectors as they are the ones doing 70mph when passing the traffic flow cameras
in this country maybe but in France the VAL systems are completely unstaffed as is Meteor Line 14 in Paris. A new line in Singapore has no drivers or attendants on the trains. It is demonstrably clear that high capacity urban public transport provision will move towards having no staff on the trains as a matter of routine.
What bloke? A conductor? Can he take over control of the train in an emergency? There's no-one sitting in the front apart from passengers pretending to be drivers.
