One of these days I might remember to remove my glasses _before_ my
lid. The metal fatigue has got to them again and the bridge has
    snapped for the second time.

Have any of the other speccy ukrmers got any recommendations?

Are those memoflex jobs any good?

    Cheers.

Oh and i've not long taken the next step up the biking ladder (see
sig) and am enjoying life a whole lot more for it :). The CB5 is
fulfilling it's role as a commuter and occasional weekend toy
handsomely, although a few weeks down the line it no longer feels like
I'm sat astride a cruise missile. I am again looking at the 600s at
the traffic lights with longing eyes.

  2. They work fine for me. Others will recommend contact lenses. I never
forget to take my glasses off first, though.

  5. I got fed up with trying to remove my eyebrows with my glasses everytime I
forgot I was wearing them, so went down the contact lense path. I have
monthly soft disposables as I can't get daily ones for my prescription. The
only drawback (ime) is they can get a bit dry on a hot day with the breeze
through your lid but this soon goes away once your eyes start watering a
    bit.

Are they really as indestructible as the adverts would have you
    believe ?

I've thought about contacts but I really only use my glasses for
riding/driving. Putting in contacts for my 45min commute hardly seems
    worth it.

Maybe I should just get a set of HP stylee NHS specs. They must be
pretty tough and there's always elastoplast.

Yep, those specs are ace, I got a pair of those for the same reasons.

They do seem pretty tough, although the real danger is breaking or
cracking the lenses by bending the frames too much.

I didn't used to forget about my spectacles. (Well: only very
occasionally and not to the extent that I actually damaged them.)

These days I mostly wear a Caberg Justismo flip-up helmet which goes on
and off without having to remove my specs first.

Every bit. If you are happy with wearing bins they are well worth the
    investment.

You do have to be a bit careful with them though as too many
demonstrations to yer mates of just how bendy they are can leave a
little set in the metal where bits join.
