  3. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
    drugs began to take hold. I remember "Verdigris"
    Metal stockholders will have brass rod of up to somegawdawful diameter.
    You only need about an 8" length of 5/8" dia and just welly it until it
    looks used.

    Failing that, use a hefty brass bolt as a drift.

    Drifts always seem to be inherited, or obtained from a friend. The only
    exceptions seem to be people working in engineering who nick bits of metal
    from work.
