Some may remember Joe Bar Team album #1, when a cop on a BMW twin joins one
of the races and wins. What about real world?

For your viewing pleasure, there you are an action shot of the Guardia Civil
    during a car rally:

And for your reading pleasure (hopefully)...

Last spring there was the 50th anniversary of the Montjuic 24 hours race in
Barcelona. There was a meeting of ancient riders who would do a two lap
"honor tour" to the old circuit, actually, a park (where the '92 olympics
were held). The organizers kindly asked for volunteers, so there was I in a
crossing ready to stop traffic with the help of a Barcelona policeman. He
asked what will they actually do, and I replied that was just a couple of
slow-pace laps following one of the Honda Paneuros of the police.

    Well, almost.

At 12:05 we heard a roaring sound and former 24H winners and GP riders Grau,
Cardus and Garriga on old Ducatis trying to catch the paneuro.

    - Sorry, you said "slow-pace"?
    - May be.

At 12:07 they appeared again, knee down and even faster

    - <stops watch> it was a low 2 minutes lap, your mate is doing an excellent
    time, sir.
    - ...

When the exhibition ended, we went to the City Council and expressed our
greetings to the Paneuro guy, which by some mean did not please much his
    sergeant.

For a friendly dialog with the local police forces, please learn those words

Guardia Civil -> "Picoleto", dunnou why.
Policia Nacional -> "Madero", wood piece, as they used to wear brown
    uniforms.
Local police -> "Pitufo", as they wear blue uniforms, and Smurfs are blue
    too.
Mossos d'esquadra (Catalan police) -> "Gossos de quadra", or from "Squad
    guys" to "Stable dogs".

Nice, but then again, the GC are always playing silly buggers.
Especially those that work in the twisty regions. I've seen the video
    clips to prove it...

I'll try that one. Is it something that'll wind them up? Any others?

Heh - nice. I've got a beautiful scuff mark along the bottom outer edge
of one of my Tiger panniers after doing a similar thing in Andorra :)

I'll have a word, the next time I see the BiL. The best one (I spoke
about this ages ago) hasn't been digitised.
