In the absence of Wessie, I've come up with the typical South Wales Run
    route.

Depart from Ystrad Mynach, head over the A4059 and A40 to Llandovery,
then head out onto the B roads to Aberaeron for a bite to eat. After
lunch head to Tregaron and over the Abergwesyn Pass (very narrow, very
desolate and very twisty), then take the back roads through to Brecon,
returning to Ystrad Mynach via Talybont on the B roads.

It'll be a full day run, Autoroute reckons 6 hours, 180-ish miles.

for the route if anyone fancies it.

You're taking the car? 30mph average speed?

You haven't seen the roads. Believe me, 30mph is *plenty* on the
    Abergwesyn pass.

I reckon it'll be 6 hours plus including lunch and fag breaks.

BTW, why the ****** did I get an 'automated message' from that usenet
    website thingie.

Because those web people are complete muppets. I really wish tehre was
someway to nuke the whole blooming thing as I find it all rather
    distasteful.

    I'm probably up for it.
I'm taking some bird out on the bike tonight, so we'll have to see
    where that leads. <hopes>

Oddly, I think she may read ukrm, as an hour into our first date we
were happily talking about some random polite topic, when she comes out
    with:
"Oh, and before you ask, no I don't."
    "Eh? Don't what?" says I
"Take it up the arse." She says, as casually as you like.
My dating skills not what they were, I fell back on the timeless...

    " "

    followed by

    <stunned>

    and finished off with

    "WTF?"

    Strange girl.

Anyway, what time and where in whystrad my-natch?

    Nothing but trouble. :)
The comeback, would have been, "So, do you **** on a first date then?"

We'd already explored that possiblity, and discovered a fine set of
dust covered, but fully functioning victorian values.

    <thinks>

    Why am I still bothering?

Albeit at night in a rally car.

4 wheels better than two on such roads, mind, and I'm sure you weren't
worrying about stuff coming the other way at the time, too.

As you've probably gathered by now, last night went rather well. :)

    Heh. Result :)

You missed a good, if rather fucking hot run.

Did the route pretty much as posted - had superb fish & chips at
Aberaeron, then did the Abergwesyn pass. Very hard work.

    I'm absolutely fucking knackered now.

As are my tyres. I could have sworn the rear was fine when I left this
morning. It's less than legal now. Looks like I need a new pair on my
    day off. Ouch.
