    Hi all
Could anyone point me in the direction of a Spares supplier for the Hyosung
    Cruise 2 motorcycle?

    Thanks in advance

Ring your local J&S Accessories and ask them.

Was looking at his browser cache a required part of fixing the problem,
or do you just like invading people's privacy whenever you work on their
    machines?

No it isn't. Did you rifle through the family photo albums at the same
time? Open up his personal finance program and check out how much he
earns? Check outgoing emails for any juicy gossip?

What makes you think that his asking you to help with a problem
entitles you to nose around in his browser history and gossip about it
on a public forum? Remind me never to entrust you with anything.

Not really, I see it as being highly unprofessional, something akin to a
window cleaner climbing into the bedroom, rifling through your wife's
underwear drawer, then telling his mates about it.

But of course it was ok as he didn't get caught in the act.

And then in your .sig 'trustgroup' how does what you did and
subsequently boasted about serve to encourage trust?

Maybe you should take a look ay the human rights act.

Article 8: Right to respect for private and family life

'1. Everyone has the right to his private and family life, his home and
    his correspondence.

OK you've not broken that law, as obviously the guy's name isn't
plastered over Usenet, but you've still sucessfully proved you're an
    untrustworthy ****.

I sure as hell hope you don't actually work on any sensitive or
confidential information in your line of work.

  11. Well, you'll probably find all sorts of odd stuff in the cache,
especially if owner of aforesaid computer has ever clicked on a link
posted by Darsy. What of it?

Stored jpegs and downloads would be a better indication of someone's
    tastes, IMHO.

That's not human rights: that's professional ethics.

Purely to back up my argument being reasonable, as it was the first
thing that sprang to mind which I could easily reference.

My argument is essentially an ethical one.

I can't comment on French law but in both cases I think common sense
    applies.

In the usenet context a non defamatory statement like... So and so must
have 50 gigabytes of mp3's doesn't cause any problems and is non
specific, whereas commenting on individual content is IMHO crossing the
line unless you're in a legitimate position to do so, say as an auditor.

By the same token I believe an alarm going off as someone leaves a store
is enough for someone to have reasonable suspicion that a crime may have
been commited, however that's a mile away from holding hundereds of
supposed war criminals on an island with no trial, which *should be* a
    no-no.

Maybe that's too pragmatic a view for your liking, but that's how I see
    things.

  17. No, we don't, you twisted idiot. We say it's *(ab)used* to protect the
indiscretions of the rick and powerful and famous, not *designed* for
    that purpose.
And that, IMHO, is fucking appalling. You do wrong, you get caught, bang
to rights, it's your problem. Not the problem of whoever unmasked you.

France is dictatorial, chauvinistic and its law displays none of the
elasticity that has allowed British common law to evolve the way it has.
It has its excellent points - it's almost certainly Napoleon's greatest
legacy to the continent - but I'm afraid that a nation with a history of
authoritarian rule, and a bureaucracy entrenched since the days of
Mazarin and Richelieu, is sadly deficient in many legal aspects.

  18. Which is still precisely true - and which makes your statement, which I
notice you aren't trying to defend, utter bollocks.
Wrong again. And wrongdoing can be still private information - for
    various values of wrong.
    I know that.
    I don't and I didn't say that.
True, despite having studied law at both English and French
    universities, I have forgotten much.
You probably know more about French history than I do, and fair enough.

Now listen, you miserable, snivelling, lying, mentally sick little ****.
I've had it up to here with your mendacity, your attention seeking, your
pathetic postings, your cryingly shameful attempts to claim you're
French, your sniping at Ace and Cab "because they aren't as French as
you are", your little attempts to hide the truth about yourself, and
above all the fact that, in a newsgroup which prides ityself on going
off-topic, you can't post a single message that has anything to do with
    motorcycling.

If they handed out prizes for failing in the race of l,ife, the judges
would be trying to award you a lifetime achievement cup, if only to shut
you up and get you out of their sight.

If Bear did one laudable thing, it was managing to keep some kind of cap
    on the drivel you spout.

    **** right off.
