  1. Sorry to read about your prang but glad to hear you're both reasonably ok-
    all the best,

  2. You're not necessarily at fault K, once you lose control of a GS BMW
it's weight distribution takes over and there's not a thing you or
anyone could have done to stop it happening. One of the (many)
problems with that design IMHO. Glad to hear you and your daughter
are alive to tell the story. Go get a Yamaha with the insurance cash?

But could his feet touch the ground? He would have been able to save it
    if they had....

  4. Doubt that Zebee, even if he'd been wearing roller skates.

    those images?)

Give gNat a big kiss from me ... Clem, you're on your own :)

    Those were *rumours*?... ; )
You better hope it's her arse-kicking leg that took the brunt.
Hope yer not the pilot... : )

Best wishes to yourself and Gnat. What doesn't kill you makes you
    stronger...

As for the next bike, promise me you'll take it *really* carefully for
    the first three months...

Triumph Sprint. It's even got the underseat Rocket III (as in BSA Rocket
    III) exhaust.

Really crap design those BMW's particularly the GS, wont last the year out,
never be a volume seller. And that weight distribution thingy a real death
trap if you ask me, never catch on.

Clem's feet touch the ground on the GS easily.
Seen him perched on the thing.

  13. Yeah Boxer, I think the only part that would "catch on" would be those
bloody heads, catching on the rough roads in outback ozz.

Stabiliser wheels at the correct height under each head, almost like
training wheels (snigger) just might make the bike easier to keep
upright, particularly when riding offroad. It'd need strong springing
to push the bike and two riders onto an even keel after a trip up like
    Knobdoodle & Natalie had though.

  14. Yeah a Sprint would suit Clem, but Natalie might not want to ride
pillion with her Dad again if she knows how much faster the Sprint is
than the GS 1100. Isn't there a new model Triumph scrambler/offroad
just come onto the market? One of those would make his eyes sparkle.

First rule of aus.moto; ALWAYS assume there's an "in" joke!
Yes my left foot was touching the groung almost immediately Zebee. My right
was about a metre up though, so I could only ever get a half-save ....
