I don't know crap from cronola, about some of the ''knockdown/dragout''
discussion going. I judge any ones remarks at face value, of course, in
here it's ''phrase value'' (Grin). Disagreeing is part of the discussion
between folks. To me, it would be boring to come in here and read down
the line, the new post, and at the end, (bottom posting), type in
''well said'', 'I agree'', ''blah,blah,blah''
I expect, not to totally agree. I can always find one paragraph, and
make a contriversary out ot it, and you know you can too. I know Louie
and mark can. Mark is one of the best. But, that's a healthy
manner/skill to get others in on it. One more thing: I laugh, when I see
how a
''subject about the 10 Commandments''
has turned into such a ''heated'' thread, of nothing similar to original
post. Don't get me wrong, I have read down the line, it's just hard for
me to respond to somehing I know nothing about.

Just a little trivia concerning the background ol' AV or John Moran..

He was totally anonymous for a long time.. posting under his nickname
Another Viewer.. He enjoyed jumping on other posters and ridiculing them
when they displayed any sign of computer inexperience.. Another Viewer, as
he was then known.. was attacking another poster and calling him some real
bad names, threatening to contact the man's ISP and all kinds of stupid
stuff.. I intervened and defended the man, of course AV turned on me.. This
thing has escalated since then into full blown detest for each other..

All his talk about someone attacking or calling names is/was his strong
suit.. He doesn't stop with attacking the poster, he includes wives, fathers
... mothers, sons, daughters and even grand children.. He's trying to
re-habilitate his image with all the talk that he's posting, now.. As I've
mentioned before.. "that horse is already out of the barn.. too late to shut

Here is the true root of Bill's anger and hatred. Last March, he was
boasting about "riding anyone into the ground". That's a dangerous
boast to make in a motorcycle group because someone may just challenge
it. There was a competitive long distance rally scheduled for the end
of April, the Waltz Across Texas, which can cover 1000 miles in 24 hours
with numerous bonus locations all over the state to be ridden to and
documented. It can be a tough ride because it's not just riding the
miles, it's on-the-fly route planning and strategy that constantly
changes, as well as the miles and multiple stops all over the state for
scoring points. Many people who start do not finish the event within
the alloted time. Last April, 12 of 39 entrants did not finish. It's
tough by design.

I challenged Bill to back up his "ride anyone into the ground" boast
and to ride the Waltz under the standard Waltz rally rules for everybody
entered. The Waltz is an even playing field with independant scoring
and judging of each riders ride. After weeks of much bluster and
attempts to change it to something other than the Waltz or attempting to
change the rules, Bill ultimately declined the challenge and publicly
said "No". Ever since then, he has despised me and Mark Johnson, who
for years has assisted in putting on the Waltz rally. Fundamentally,
Bill embarressed himself for not being able to back up his mouth when he
got called on it and he has hated me ever since. Oh well, if you say
you can ride someone into the ground in a motorcycle group, be prepared
to ride or don't say it. Bill mouthed off and got caught.

Interestingly, I went on to ride the half day Waltz; this year was the
first time it was offered, 500 hundred miles in 12 hours looking for
distant locations. I decided to take it easy and have fun, having
ridden the standard 1000mi/24hr Waltz each of the 3 previous years.
BeemerBiker, who contributes to this group occassionally, also did the
half day ride for his first attempt at the Waltz. In fact, he and I
rode together from Fredericksburg to Del Rio where we parted ways and I
continued West on my route. Beemer didn't finish in time but had a lot
of fun. Bill did not participate in the Waltz at all but did continue
to make veiled threats and toss insults, which continues to this day.
Just like fishing, sometimes I'll toss the insults back and he gets even
more upset. You would think he'd learn, but...

You may notice Bill mentioned absolutely nothing of this, but all the
posts are available to document that this is exactly what happened and
why he has had a mad on with me ever since. Here's a repost of the
clincher from last March 25 where he finally capitulates. Needless to
say, this is likely to provoke more bluster from Bill. nothing new there

To be honest, I believe that Bill objected to some of the standard Waltz
rally rules. Aren't you required to wear a helmet during the Waltz? What
would happen if someone was caught riding in the Waltz without one? Would
they give an automatic DNF or give 0 points/miles?

Organizers can't get liability insurance to even begin organizing a
competitive rally unless they can demonstrate some efforts at safety,
and helmets come up near the top of the list of expected safety gear.
All the rules in these events are there for reasons gleaned from the
experiences of many rally masters and organizations over many years of
LD rallies run across the country, from the IBR, Butt-Lite, Utah 1080,
WATR, FitE, Minn. 1000, Northwet Passage, Tarbutt, Mason-Dixon, Land of
Enchantment 1000, Thin Air Tourist Trophy etc.. I can't think of a
single LD event that allows no helmets. Wearing a helmet won't impede a
top notch rider anyway.

 

That wasn't the problem.. I agreed to the ride, provided that John Moran
would peg up with me, on it.. My challenge was to Moran, not the Waltz
Across Texas run.. That was when he commenced talking about "rules".. The
Rally Master didn't support John Moran's claim about riding together..
Matter of fact .. the Rally Master contradicted John Moran and stated "clubs
and groups are invited to participate".. Helmets were not involved..

Our planned ride down into Mexico was cancelled, so that I could make the
Waltz run, if you recall.. I called you to apologize and explained what was
going on. John Moran came out with the "rules" crap, a few days later.. As
it turned out, I didn't get to make either ride.. dammit.. Over a period of
more than twenty years of serious motorcycle riding, I've cancelled only a
few rides..

In his signature, John Moran includes all his LD rides associations.. Many
of his declarations boast about those accomplishments.. That has nothing
much to do with my intense dislike of him.. All the posturing he does about
it has to do with his own fabricated image.. That is the rally gathering
where John Moran taped over his nametag so that his identity was concealed..
Also.. he had been "anonymous" on this newsgroup, until then.. Shortly
thereafter, his true identity was exposed, as well as his home address.. I'm
given to understand, he's also moved, since that exposure..

The sleazy attacks against my wife and other members of my family, is the
greatest factor involving my intense dislike of John Moran.. The loss of a
child in a family is a tragic event.. John Moran used that event to attack
both my son and me.. by making the comment that "neglect of his own child
caused her death"... No one but the lowest and most detestible amongst us,
would ever make a statement like that to a grieving father and grandfather..
especially on a public forum newsgroup..Coupled with the insults to my wife,
who has never participated in any newsgroup and he's never seen, John Moran
has well earned my contempt..

With all his declarations about the Waltz across Texas rally that I
cancelled, John Moran continues to be a coward and the worst kind of sleazy
scumbag.. Even though John Moran ignores all references to those comments
that posted on this newsgroup.. he'd rather discuss a rally ride, he's never
made any gesture to accept the challenge that a seventy year old man would
ride his fat ass into the ground.. The Waltz rally was his idea.. My
challenge was to John Moran.. not the rally..

Other declarations of accomplishments are insignificant and are mostly a
projections of a wannabe poser.. The significant feature of John Moran's
character was when he accused my son of being responsible for the death of a
precious 12 year old child who is my grand daughter..My family still mourns
and grieves the loss of that baby.. My son especially.. Any man who'd stoop
to that level of pure, disgusting sleaze gets no respect from me .. Furthur,
he'll answer to me personally, if I ever engage his sorry ass, in person..
Difficult as it may seem, one never knows.. especially .. since I am known
throughout the state and travel extensively in Texas..
