Something old and decrepit...

  1. ...has recently taken up residence in my garden -- and no, it's
not auvache. I think it's a pigeon but its hard to be sure as it keeps
itself blown up into a puffball most of the time.

I managed to get within about 6" of it before it flew away just
after that photo was taken. It's not very active... Earlier it decided
to explore under the shrubbery, walking perilously close to the sharp
end of one of my rat traps, so I've had to disable them.

The ginger cat's back; I hope it's more wary of cats than people.

  4. I can't believe it's Saturday night and I'm looking at a picture
someone took of a *fucking* pigeon.

    I'm going out.

    Now.

IME when pigeons puff up like that, they croak very shortly afterwards.

Which is good. One less sky-rat.

    babbled on about:
Yup, they puff up to keep warm, and judging by the eyes and beak it is one
    unhappy skyrat.

    Cat fodder fer sure.

    'Snot Bear, is it?

Ah. It flies. Then it's not Bear. Are you *SURE* it's not a vache
Auvache? <gooves> No, pigeon au vache doesn't sound quite right. Pigeon
    en crôute, maybe. </gooves>

    Anyway, sorry, 1MB's too big - we haven't all got a straight-through
exhaust. (You should be able to reduce that to a jpeg of about 6 KB
    without losing too much detail.)

The ginger cat's back; I hope it's more wary of cats than people.

Hmmmm. Chat en crôute au gingembre....

I suspect it's a rat in a pigeon costume who's tricked you into
    disabling the traps.

True, I grant you winter is colder.

I'm still finding it decidedly chilly for May though.
