Err... I think you need to look at some dyno charts. Unless <35 ft-lbs
is really more than *you* would ever want, in which case, you're weird.

  5. Well, it's a fucking disgrace. I'm genuinely amazed that the French
put up with it, or even came up with it in the first place.[/QUOTE]

I don't know whose idea it was. Remember, though, that when Jospin (the
best President that France never had, IMHO) was Prime Minister, his
Transport Minister was the Communist Jean-Claude Gayssot, this gentlemen
being infamous for cracking down on 'antisocial' activities like
speeding, whilst seeing nothing wrong in his official driver breaking
speed limts with impunity. A team from MotoJournal (IIRC) shadowed his
official car and caught the driver (with Gayssot in the back) running
red lights, going > 50 km/h over the limit (which normally moves the
stakes from 'moving traffic offence' into 'criminal offence' (i.e.
offences of class 5 and above)), etc. The ****'s excuse when confronted
was that the bloke at the wheel was a 'highly-trained police driver',
and that there was a motorcycle escort in attendance.

Google for 'moto' and 'gayssot'. I'd do it, but my google is set to
search in French, and that's not going to be much use.

A couple of other titbits, should your French be up to it, or if
babelfish spits out anything intelligible ...

Gendarmerie nationale bikers state that most accidents have little to do
with speed, and a lot to do with dozy cunts in cars not opening their
    eyes.

The low-down on the issue of bikes' headlights being on all the time.

    Etc...
Yes, yes, yes .. _where_ has my fellow citizens' revolutionary spirit
gone?? A 14 July 1789 would never be possible now.

Well, if I can't have the horses, the torque will do.

This is the same argument that the my local Suzuki deal is trying to
use on me for the Gixxer thou.

You reckon? Wouldn't the ins. co. go all out to deny payment? Also if
you go from say 106BHP to 150BHP, wouldn't this be considered as a
    significant change?

    What would plod do too?
What's a TDM like in the 'throwabout on the twisties' kind of ride? I
want a bike that I can enjoy as well as be sort of practical (Yes, yes,
Champ, I know what I said up there. I enjoy my GSX and it's sort of
practical. The Divvy is just practical. :))

  9. What do you want them to do? Most of them are too busy tracking
speeding bikes, and ogling women on bicycles and short skirts, to worry
    about that sort of stuff.

why not take one for a test ride, then you'll know for yourself?

book a ride on a multistrada at the same time so you can get a decent
    comparison.
