It's non other than the French Ambassador to the Ivory Coast, Bakayoko
Issouf! Quite cunningly he's opted for a yahoo.com email address. I
guess it's because he doesn't want to use his embassy email address,
    because it's for work only.

Let me guess, the next step is to send him loads of money via Western
    Union...

    <fx: sigh>

He'll get his agent to turn up with an over large cheque, natch. With this
sort of luck, I'd buy a lottery ticket too.

Selling the bike? What next? Bike or Renault Scenic?

Heh, the cage is already sorted.

I'm interested in the new Bandit atm, but am not 100% sure.

There's no way I can do home to Saclay every bloody day by cage, that's
for sure. It'd drive me mad.

    Interested? ;-)

I quite fancied the new 1250 non-s Bandit, but then I noticed how low
on power it is - it barely makes more than the 650, FFS.

That's the bugbear for me. I know my GSX puts out 106BHP, but the 1250
puts out 98BHP and the difference is very noticeable

with the 1200, all you had to too was replace the end can for an extra
15 BHP or so, but with the 1250's fuel-injection setup I reckon such
    easy gains won't be possible.

FFS, just get in derestricted, you wuss. AFAICT every other litre-bike
owner in France does so, so why not?

Well, I suppose there would be a way of remapping it or by adding a
Power Commander, but I think you're right.

The other problem is that FrogPlod are so strict on aftermarket stuff
atm, that the bike would probably be impounded as soon as they see
    it.

Are there any? Seems any time I'm in France with a litrebike owner,
every time we stop there's some slack-jawed goon or other looking at the
litrebike like it's the holy grail. I got the distinct impression that
the only litrebikes in France were those belonging to foreign visitors.

Bandit 1250 only makes 98bhp anyway, everywhere.

Oh, great, a new unit of measurement.

"Laid end to end, it would take 212 million SV650s to reach the moon"

*ding* If it was restricted, it'd be restricted to 106BHP, not 98BHP.

Anyway, even if every other litre-bike is derestricted:

    1. They're supposed to be bringing in mobile units that will do power
tests on bikes (n'est pas BD?)
    2. It'll void my insurance and to be honest, I can't be arsed with
    breaking the law any more.

French chap sat opposite me says it's not illegal to own, but nobody
    will insure or sell.

I wasn't 100% convinced he was right, mind you, as he doesn't have a
bike licence (French or UK) and used to own an R1...

So how many SV650s to a football pitch? Only I'm trying to work out
how big an area that's the size of Wales is.

Not really. I think it's like fags here. It's illegal to sell to
under 16s, illegal for them to buy, but not illegal for them to smoke
    them.
