  3. My parents had a Lancia Fulvia, they loved it, Dad always regrets
    selling it.

    That's not helping is it?

    Not in the slightest.

The biggest problem is having a surplus 156 saloon to sell, as I'm out
of drive space, will soon be out of road space, and already have one car
    in storage.

    As the owner (since '79) of a '68 Alfa 1750 GTV, I'm a bit biased though I
    can see the attraction.

Note that the listing says "STRICTLY , YES STRICTLY - NO ANORAKS !!! " -
wouldn't that be an issue this weather ;-P

    That's where I fall down ;-)

I've asked him for some hi-res photos and the MOT certificate number, so
I can check out the advisories from the last few tests.

Yeah, emailed for details. If they come back OK-ish, I'll send JackH to
    have a look for me.

To be fair, he's one of the few people (along with Timo) who I'd trust
to look over something as potentially as rotten as one of those.

Obviously, it would be cash on collection, giving me an option to walk
    away if it wasn't right.

It does seem a bit too cheap, really.

Gah, that 156 will soon sell.

It's not like you've advertised it that widely yet.

Given I'm not in love with the bloody thing, I'm less likely to go all gooey
eyed than Steve is if he was viewing it himself. ;-)
Aye, well I'll be taking the laptop and my camera along, and taking lots of
nice big pictures of anything that's a bit manky or which Steve reckons he
    needs to see.

I can also arrange for it to go up on a four point lifters for a final
inspection if the seller is that keen on a sale if / when they agree a price
    for it.

The main thing is to make sure Steve isn't wasting his time travelling from
the other side of the country because it's not in the ballpark of 'as
    described'.

You want talking out of it, yes?
No it's not, it looks like a 70s Ford Escort.

    There, did that help?

I didn't know the accident had damaged your sight.

Currently looking into an MOTd, but not perfect Alfa Spider (think
Graduate shape, but a 1980s facelift).....

Humm... certain models of those are worth more than that thing is up for,
    now.
Not really; even a shed like two door Mk2 or, for eye wateringly dear
prices, Mk1 Escort, fetches silly money these days.

Cast a jaundiced eye over the seats, then - the stitching in the photo
    would give Loz nightmares.
Having had some experience of SOC in general and some Italian shite of
that era in particular, I wouldn't touch it with yours. I put an Alfa
twink and drivetrain into a MKI Escort many years ago - the Italian
bits were in fine condition - but they came cheap out of an Alfetta
that had just rotted away around the oily bits.

My mate whose workshop I used at that time, had an ongoing open war
with his Dad's Fulvia - as soon as he'd fixed it, the thing went phut
again - if it wasn't the electrics it was corrosion - that thing
rotted in places I've never seen another car rot in - all the way
around the rear window, for a start, under the rubber. One of the
tail lights fell out one day when it was sitting in the drive, due to
the bodywork being unable to support the weight of the light any
    longer.

It was only a few years old then too, but eventually went to the
Italian car breakers yard as the floorpan, inner and outer sills and
the front seat tubes were all weakened by rot so much.
Heh. I remember that MK3 Escort. Now that was a waste of time.

I believe MrH has spotted another piece of eytie shi... sorry, 'exotica',
that appeals more now, not least because it's a ragtop and right hand drive.

One near Bedford funnily enough, if he gets a favourable response to the
questions he's asked them this evening and you or Loz are feeling brave...
    ;-)
Fair enough - I was going to cast an eye over it to make sure it wasn't
obviously rotting to bits etc, was all.

    You're telling me.

I still boil up when I think about that now after what... must be at least 8
years now, (cheers for the reminder ;-)), and still regret not putting the
fucktard concerned on his arse before we left.

I didn't just win it, (I found it on Yahoo auctions), and then go to collect
either - I had loads of contact with the shitehawk concerned both by phone
and email before I agreed to buy it.

I mean ffs, it had plates welded onto plates already welded onto the inner
wings previously, and the coup de grace was the floor number that was
illegible and possibly just rot rather than something stamped into the
    floor.

I don't normally agree with telling tales, but I made sure Blackpool plod
were given enough info to check it out and I ended up having a long
conversation with one of their stolen vehicle specialists who reckoned the
theft and ringing of RS1600is and the like was rife round that way back in
the day, and that what I'd described with regards to the floor number
sounded about par for the course for an iffy one.

A shade under 800 miles and around £150 for nothing bar the experience of
breaking down in West Bromwich and finding out there is human life there
after all given how helpful the chap was at the garage that fixed the car,
and a fairly decent night out in Manchester (1) with some of the Northern
    UKRM contingent.

    (1) And before you say it, yes, the 'Anal Treet' incident. LOL

    All prior posts acknowledged.

    Thing is that it's a 1300.
1600HF and then you might be talking.
    1600HF was the RS1600 MK1/2 Escort
    equivalent.

This one is like a Capri 1300? :)

I have no idea about values and maybe its OK
for a 1300 but I somehow doubt it.

All the alloy stuff sounds to me like silk purse from
    sows ear desperation.

    OH ****!

Just looked up price of 1600HF
1970 Lancia Fulvia 1600HF Fanalone For Sale
    http://www.motorbase.com/classifieds/viewad.ehtml?a=907740078;
    £48,000.

I guess the Fanalone bit is jacking it up, whatever
    that means.

    Please disregard pervious crap.

A while back I lived in Chiswick and I saw a few times
a very intriguing Fulvia coupe that said

1600HF Insensione - from memory - prolly wrong

It had big wings and a load of filler/primer. Looked shit
but was somehow, as I said intriguing.
    Sounded good for example.
Sounded v. good, burbling about in the traffic.
